Your story is compelling, with many good points.
Costs for college are obscene.
When I went to college in the 80's, tuition at PSU was only $2,500 a year for a full-time PA student.
Soon college will be only for wealthy.
Thank you for writing about an issue Biden bravely set into law.

I am very glad to see you put your skills to use by helping at risk kids, but I must disagree with you on the loan forgiveness program. This would be very unfair to the many who have paid back their loans. Also, the money used for these forgiveness loans will be paid for by the tax payers of this nation.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who will be thankful for a helping hand with the burden of student debt. And of course, those against the help, probably aren't trying to pay back a years or twos salary while trying to live. Thanks for sharing.

Some folks have two hundred thousand dollars school loans. I am glad I only own for one of the degrees. I thought about the PH.D program, and said, heck no. I will be glad when it is all paid, I will feel free again, lol, right now I feel owned by a loan.

I agree with you Maria, I know there are a lot of politics in the professional arenas, and likewise, there are people who won't allow others to rise above their supposed "backgrounds", despite one's background one can offer one's gift, look at Jesus, He never owned a thing, became poor for us. This was an excellent story. I would only change a couple of things:
I would put a comma after "There I was,"
"It was not easy for me both my parents..." needs to be two separate sentences, the first one ending with "easy for me."
