Your lovely poem brought back to me memories of playing in the summer rain. I liked the image of skin blistering in the shade. Your rhyme scheme gave this piece additional rhythm

This is a beautifully stated poem about the antics of children in a summer storm. I loved playing in the rain and how the earth smelled afterwards. The visual fits perfectly. I think the poem could be even more special if you dropped the first line down one or two notches from the bottom of the visual. I would also make the background behind the poem one of the shades of blue in the visual. A poem about children playing and enjoying it should have more cheerful backdrop. Gray doesn't scream fun. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Sandra, so much for the wonderful review and suggestions. I heeded your advice and dropped the opening line and changed the background from gray to blue. You?re right. What a difference doing both made.

This reminds me so much of my childhood days. Outside on a rainy day used to be some of my best moments with my friends. I knew then I was living life freely. Thank you for this masterpiece.
