I like your Modern Tanka, good picture presentation - poem has a nice flow and paints a simple picture of nature - good use of sound and movement words to describe the picture - and sweat to bring in the human element as well. Good Job.

Nice Haiku for a summer day. It reminded me of the old time when farming was manual and labor intensive. I have a lot of memories of summer labor scenes in the field. I remember how hot and sweaty the weather is in the summer in the harvest and planting season.

Roy Owen gave you a shout out and wrote a piece based on your mastery of the Asian forms of poetry and on this piece in particular. I can see why he liked it. Very poetically you describe the labors of a farmer.
Nicely done

It seems I used to read your poetry before. I remember your name. I see you're back. Actually, Roy mentioned you in this author's notes and I decided to look you up. I'm glad I did. I shall become a fan.

Gypsy,
This is a lovely tanka club poem.
I like the way one though/image flows into the next.
Cicadas have such a sweet sound.
You've captured summer's nighttime essence very well.
Blessings,
Cindy

Hi Gypsy, well done, well said. Your poem is filled with vivid imagery. I can see it, and I can hear it. Of special note:
as salty sweat-drops fall
over rosette cheeks
(Good descriptive writing.)
A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Fortunately we don't seem to have cicadas here in my neck of the woods, but I do love your take on the incredible unstoppable noise they make, beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy

You captured the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a hot summer day where a worker is sweating the the barley field and the sound of cicadas are simply deafening!
