-Excellent poem about our ravished planet by natural disasters like flood and fires. Humans are mostly responsible for fires. We have them all across California. They're devastating.
-Nice presentation, I love your picture. -Your descriptive words flow well expressing a clear mental image of

"Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason". --Novalis

Lovely subject that the viewfinder finds to begin your poem: the focus on rain and the association with the changing winds, of the elements, fire and water.

Sparkling in your poem:
-A shift in the poem from reflective to introspective, at the second stanza
-Contrast between city landscapes and inner landscape
-Uncovering decay, loss of innocence, contrast with forest floor regeneration and new generation, and the future unknown.
-Speaking the talk, but are we walking the walk.
-Shift in the winds, to say something, what is owed by
mankind.

Most poignant image conveyed in your poem:
-Life s branches fall on children s path, their steps unknown, their voices crushed.
I enjoyed reading this poem.

This is one of the best cascading poems I have read, as your theme is so important and well expressed, and very relevant to our east coast devastation by fire and flood over the last three years as well as trees being chopped down for greed. The metre is smooth and the artwork is both startling and effective as well.

Excellent social commentary on the need for all of humanity to think in much longer terms for survival. I find it most disturbing that some of the world's wealthiest people think the future will see planet Earth as some kind of warehouse. The cascade form is a wise selection because of its waterfall effect.

Just one small change here:

while trees still fall from people's sword(s)

Thank you for sharing.

The author's words are true, descriptive, sad, are reality, descriptive and
creative. I like how the author leads up to the last stanza and with details throughout this poem. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork
is awesome and compliments this poem. Hope you had a great day! Maria

This is a powerful and meaningful write full of home truths. Forest fires are destructive and can ruin people's lives. Using the cascade form has added the feeling of repeating flames spreading with their fire through towns, a tragic scene indeed, a fine poem, love Dolly x

Great job with your Cascade poem which does cause the reader to be receptive to the message about caring for the trees which are critical for a healthy planet.

Yes, we do reap what we sow. Unfortunately, not many are willing to assume responsibility for their errors. Man is slowly, but surely destroying this planet. And he has no one else to blame. Very powerful cascade poem. Well done!

This is a powerful poem. You could feel the heartache as homes, as you wrote, float away. You could see the disaster unfold. Very well written. This flows nicely. But more important the message comes through powerfully.

You did a great job with your cascade poem for the club, kahpot.
Your first verse sets the serious tone of your poem. You expressed
your thoughts and feelings well in each succeeding verse. I
liked how each verse had one main theme that you then
expanded on. You gave great examples of how mankind has
abused the Earth and continues, yet can't seem to see the
damage he's caused. The picture was perfect for your well
thought out words. Your poem should be read as a wakeup
call before it's too late. So much has already been done.
How much more can the Earth survive?
Thanks for participating, Jan
