The author words are deep and interesting. Art is definitely a gift and I
like the words above the title. I liked very much the last stanza of these
words and for me awareness is the key! In order - to see a perfect faith expressed in ev'ry leaf! The artwork is awesome and compliments the
theme and words of this poem.

This poem about one's faith bypasses the smarmy, childish language of most religious poetry. It may not be a religious poem; faith is clearly not always linked to a religion or a shared credo. In this poem, the author finds "a core belief" in the experience of life, and not from other sources so eager to bring "the truth." I like the last quatrain the best. I think that 'perspicacious,' meaning very knowing, doesn't work in its line; maybe 'for perspicacity's need' would work, expressing that knowledge wants more knowledge. This is an exceptional, thought-provoking poem.

Thanks so much, Frank. I normally avoid faith-based contests because I don't sail by the prevailing winds, but as you say, it's not actually about religion. I appreciate the thoughts - love the idea of knowledge craving knowledge - so I'll think on some tweaks there.

Mike, you have ready imagination and the ability to find both eloquent expression and novel perspectives and diction to your writing. You stand out.

The last two lines are memorable and poignant and will stick with me for a long while. I also admire fit to flit. I stopped and enjoyed that alliterative flare for a moment. I loved the way it sat in my brian and brought layer of layer of meaning. Another great write!

Thank you, Michaela :-). I normally avoid faith contests because I don't have any religious affiliation or have any inclination that way. This time, though, I was driven to write something - my hope was that, as well as expressing my own truth, I was writing something universal that didn't preclude any other beliefs people have.

This brought to my mind the last lines of Keats Ode to a Grecian Urn:
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,--that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
Trees are always a great metaphor.
I love the line about the clacking of keys unlocking learning.

Thanks so much for the awesome and flattering review. I enjoyed bringing modern elements such as the clacking keys, and their obvious dual purpose with the more classical meaning of keys. I thought about what I actually believe in, and this was what came out.

An excellent post, bringing from within the very essence of life, if we don't give we will not receive, we will never know the joy of inheritance that belong to those who join the life we were given. Beautifully written my friend Mike, blessings Roy

I was reading this and enjoying myself, then realised who wrote the piece, and it made sense - wouldn't have expected anything else from you. This is again a beautiful piece of poetry, and I love how it is faith in art, it's one of the rarer interpretations of the topic. As always, the rhythm is on point, and the imaginary you create is beautiful and engaging.

Thank you, it's a rare thing I consider worth believing in, but if I?m going to have faith in anything, it's the power of art. So glad you liked it!

We can only guarantee what we see through understanding with our eyes closed. You feel the weight of the world on your toes and fingers when it rises to that level. You fumble your way toward the understanding that you need to be more perceptive daily. Thank you for sharing and posting.

Your poem is beautifully written. I'm struggling writing this review and not bring God into it because I do believe every person has a right to their own beliefs. I see the images you're providing with your words.

As do I, and you're always welcome to talk about God in whatever context - you won't offend me. My intent was to be all-encompassing in expressing my beliefs, never exclusionary. Thank you for the lovely response :-).

Your first stanza is a great opening - the expanse of an endless plain, the height of the sky, and the deep roots of this tree says "all encompassing" to me, and that is what spirituality and belief in something means. And your last stanza ties it all together with your core belief.

Although I usually have to Google search words when I read your work (perspicacious), I always enjoy reading it and TRYING to understand it:-)

If you haven't already, I imagine some of the pious police will comment on your choice of deities, however.
