A wonderful poem! A lot of rhymes and alliterations. A lot of truth too to the life we humans have. When someone praises a tree trunk, this person has learned the nature of things and is profound, in my view. Very creative and full of human spirits.

Your poem celebrates that classic romanticism of nature as the temple of God. Nice echoing rhyme effects and alliteration, nice rhythm to it, I liked the down to Earth language spoken almost off the cuff. Very approachable. estory

I enjoy the recurrence of the tree theme, which ties your work together, and represents something solid and lasting, perhaps beyond the normal span of life. I don't practice religion, I practice love and kindness through Buddhism, some Christianity, native American faith folklore, wicca, etc.... I like your relation between art and faith. Thank you, Gypsy :-). I think organised religion risks missing the point and so it's not for me. As you say, better to live by the precepts than the rules. My hope was to write something true to me but non-exclusive. I'm really glad you liked it.
