Well, there has to be more coming. This is a very captivating story that wouldn't let me go once I started reading. Who's doing the whistling? There's no one stirring anywhere. Eerie!!!

Many thanks, barbara. I actually wrote this way back in 2015 and have been tinkering with it a bit. I have a lot of stuff that I started in my first year of writing that I put away until I learnt to write a bit better. lol Much appreciated. G

I think you've succeeded in raising the hackles on the back of my neck, and there was just enough suggestion of a night creature, but likewise the element of normality to this post G, I enjoyed it so much. For some reason I thought of the film "A hot August night", well done, blessings Roy
