This was a wonderful poem... It oozed droplets of emotion, color and imagery at every turn. The phrasing Radiated energy and excitement. It pulled at the senses. would say this was a very tasty poem in all respects! Extraordinarily well done!

How beautiful, inviting the reader to plunge into the beauty of poetry and words as you describe, with so many allusions to water, and fulfilment, joy and satisfaction resulting. Best wishes for the Free Verse contest.

I often bathe in poetry and I loved your metaphor here as we dabble in the waters and take a swim inside words to produce a masterpiece, much enjoyed Verna, love Dolly x

This is a beautifully written free verse poem. Splash into a sea of poetry. Let iridescent drops of words penetrate to your heart And warm you like a glowing fire on the coldest day. Delight in waves of verse. Very Breathtaking photo to compliment your words. Very nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

This poem, Plunge into Poetry, has the readers splashing, spattering, sprinkling, dashing, jumping, and indeed plunging into the natural and spiritual items which make up the fodder of poetic creativity. Nice.

I can definitely see why you are such a respected poet on more than just this site. If I didn't love swimming in poetry I would have drowned in a sea of exquisite word images. But don't throw me a lifeline... I love the sea you created. Well done.

I enjoyed this poem. It's a tribute to writing and the joy of writing. I think a lot of us could relate to that. I thought the last stanza was especially strong as it creatively gives credit to God's hand. Great job - well written.

I feel like you just took me to the land of poetry, while we flew from one place to another while picked what we thought we might need in every part and kept flying . It was that mesmerizing and I didn't want it to end. It was all so beautiful and I
thank you for this lovely trip and for allowing me to join you, it was awesome!
Thanks Verna for flying us to the last where we can find anything poetic there's.

How engaging this is! With every first line of each stanza, I smiled wider!
Anyone who reads ~ or loves to write ~ poetry knows well this feeling of becoming one with the words, being swept up, carried off, lifted up...
This is a beautiful and artfully presented free verse poem, Verna. I only wish I'd thought of one of these magical phrases!
(smile)
Glad you did!
Best of luck in the contest!

Wow! This is a lovely free verse about poetry! I like the "sea of poetry" and "Revitalize your soul." You use all kinds of sense like sounds and sights and sensations. "Dash headfirst into billows of sound" makes poetry writing and reading such an active event. I think this will do well in the contest!
