Hope and love go hand in hand. This was a very uplifting 5 7 5. It flowed nicely and I like how encompassed the hope of one to span the universe. Well done.

I love Haiku poems, and I know I keep saying this. But this form is not as easy as it looks. This is a great one and I also liked the artwork you chose to represent your writing. Great job!

Nice Haiku, Jesse.

Remember that Hope is what makes us drive on.
And after the darkness will come a new dawn.
The problems that trouble us while on our way,
We'll see in a different light on this new day.

In my opinion, the write is beautifully choreographed in presentation in its entirety, but the message escaped me in premise, even with respect to personal interpretation...

Jesse,
Your Haiku poem is great and says so much. Sometimes hope is all we have in life; hope takes many forms. Hope for love, hope for acceptance, hope for a brighter future, hope in God.
Your photo also makes the statement; we always 'reach for the stars' during our lives.
I believe God is universal love. He's in the stars, moon, in someone's smile, in our courage.
So many things came to mind when I read your poem. That's what great writing is all about.
Good luck in the contest, Jesse. And in everything you pursue.
I hope you are doing well. (Sorry about the overuse of "hope."

Thank you, Cindy, for your unique interpretation of my Haiku. I love how many different interpretations there are when one writes using hope as the title.
I appreciate your kind comments and thoughtful wishes for me to do well.

I love the message here, and it's one we need to cling to in this world of chaos and war and division. Hope is a universal language of emotions, and the thought of it rising to the heavens to become universal love is most comforting!

I see Gypsy reviewed and was pleased with this as a haiku, and that, my friend, is my "go-to" source whenever I have questions as to form or theme in any Japanese form!

Nice to see you posting and best of luck in this contest!

Karenina

    Hello Karenina.
Yes, the world is indeed troubled, yet I keep hope alive in my heart.
Gypsy gave me an excellent review, that is true, and I see you are giving me one too.
Thank you for your good luck wishes.

Universal Love is a fine ending to a philosophical haiku. I'm not sure if this meets all the many haiku rules that I learned about over the years here but I like the personification of Hope leading to "Universal Love."
And the love of friends here are hoping that your knee surgery will go perfectly and that you will be walking well in the near future!

It's so good to have and hold to hope, there's not much of that commodity in the world these days I'm afraid, this is so timely and a wondrous post on this day. Beautifully written Jesse, good luck, blessings Roy
