This is the most difficult type of poem for me to write. I've tried again and again, but I never like the results.
Yours is great, however. I like how you manage to say so much in just a few words.
Just one thing: aren't you supposed to use lowercase at the beginning of each line in haiku?
Good luck in the contest.
Have a lovely day,
MJ

Hi MJ. I wasn't aware of using lowercase beginnings in a haiku. Thanks for the tip!
I am so happy you gave me a sixer for this poem. It was my first time entering a contest on FS. I didn't fare well, however.
    Have a wonderful week!

I only know because of Gypsy. She's the haiku expert on FS. She even has a club.
    Do you know her?
Anyway check some of her poems as I might be wrong.
I've entered quite a few competitions and only won once. There are lots of us here.

Yes, I know Gypsy. She is a friend of mine. I don't do clubs or anything like that I just learn on my own.
I agree there are lots of us here.

I used to belong to some clubs and even created a flash fiction one myself, but then I realized it took too much time.

Yes, clubs take a lot of time away from living.

I love that you present love as the ultimate destination of hope - what a lovely way of looking at it. All the catch words here are positive - hope, strength, rising, exploring ... love.

I very much enjoyed :-)

Oh, I love this perfect-in-its-simplicity description of a rather complicated concept. I could imagine this being read to a child and having him "get it." It's easy to see why it's garnered and "All Time Best" seal! Go you, Jesse; great job!! xo

Children know the secrets, those older folks are not aware of. What seems complicated to adults so many children "get."
    Thanks for your kind comments.

We need to live in a world of love... unfortunately In here, hate is growing but love is slowly disappearing. So is the rest of the world... it is hard to build universal love.

We should all try to love each other to make the world strong.

A very nice 5-7-5 hairy.

Sparkling in your poem: hope and how hope permeates,

My favourite line: then rises up to explore, like a personification and a portrayal of the innate qualities of hope.

Best of luck on your entry.

Hope for a better tomorrow, a better outcome, a better day is what keeps us going when things get tough.
Excellent 5/7/5 poem Jesse. Your satori line of "universal love" is perfect.

Well done
Blessings

Hi Jesse, fantastic haiku - good format and your message is clear.

I especially liked:
Universal Love

(Wow. Well done, well said.)

Great photo choice. A pleasure to read. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

p.s. Did you have your surgery yet?

Thanks, LateBloomer, for your encouraging review. I appreciate you choosing what works best for you. Universal love is what we strive for every single day of our lives!
No, I haven't had surgery yet. It will be on the first of September, and I will be ready with bells on!
In other words, I have nervous and excited all at once!
It won't be long before I am out of the wheelchair and walking proud!
Thanks so much for the extra stars!

As we all face our uncertain future, we hope for the best outcome for all our endeavors. I love the idea of hope rising. I know you have a surgery coming soon and hope you will be delighted after the healing process. I also hope you do well in the contest. Best wishes and blessings always.
