I am sorry for your loss of your cousin George. It is so difficult letting go of those we love. I know this deeply. This is a good tribute to him, and one you may want to share with his other loved one.

Oh Margaret, what a Beautiful tribute to your cousin that you most likely grew up with, as close as our own grandchildren are to each other. Cousins are like a small family of their own and even though they go their separate ways, you always hold them dear to your heart. It saddens me for you that he may have had a chance, if only more were open to being a donor. (I have had it on my driver's license for the last twenty years) I am so happy that you shared this beautifully written poem with us. It not only showed your love and mourning for this wonderful and handsome man, but you brought awareness to such an important subject of organ donation.
Just as I was since I first heard about George's passing, I am so sorry for your loss my very lovely friend. May you find some comfort in knowing that perhaps it just wasn't meant to be and that God's plan doesn't always work according to ours!
Once again, this is so touching, heart felt and well written with such love and compassion! Your sotu, Debi

Hi Debi, my Sotu, thank you for your heartfelt review. George was a great guy. A little bit of a cut-up but that's what made him so loveable. Yes, a new heart for George was not meant to be. God had another plan for him, even though it did not work with our plan. We must believe. His parents were waiting for him with open arms, and my mom was waiting for him in the background with two drinks in hand--one for George and one for her. Those two were very close. I can still see my mom smiling, laughing, and hugging him. Dear TSOTU, thank you for your understanding and heartfelt review which means a lot to me...and for the Six stars too. Xo. Margaret

Certainly, we all send condolences for your loss. It sounds like George was someone near and dear to you.
I especially like your last stanza, as he is visiting you one last time, offering a wink to let you know he is and will be fine, and then slips away to the next chapter. Along those lines, and this is my personal belief, I know we never want to depart the earth - we are "afraid to die" - but I believe once we do and see that something better awaits, we slip away with a wink and a smile.
Best to you and your family, Margaret.

Hi Pam, thank you for your heartfelt review and for sharing your thoughts which are most appreciated. George went quickly. I don't believe he was ready to leave his earthly home, but when he got a look at what awaited him, he was just fine. He is really smiling now.
Once again, thank you for your review. Sincerely, Margaret ~ LB

It may not grant solace in saying he is in a better place, but I think he is and tht in itself gives me comfort, and I hope you and George. ............................
