I liked this love poem about what is this thing we call love anyway? I like the metaphor of ebb and flow of love and I like your character the dark wizard who is a sort of anti-Cupid figure.

In my opinion, a delightful, brilliant write in its tale, smooth rhyming flow and presentation - in full compliance with the prompt. Best wishes in the contest with this gem...

An exceptional love story poem of moon-crossed lovers.
The symbolism is great, and your writing flows well.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings,
Cindy

I love the tale you've woven this, and the subtly erotic middle section with ebb and flow living up to their names. This is a beautiful, lilting piece, my friend, in a genre I have never managed to master. I loved it.

Your words and six stars are humbling. I've said many times before you are one of my favorites and I'm honored that you've read and reviewed this one. Thank you, Mike.

In his excellent love poem, "Forever Coupled," John Ciarmello uses the characteristics of waves, tides and currents to make an analogy to the human acts of love. Having a wizard change lovers to water for their sin of intimacy feels abrupt and unjustified as a start to the poem; perhaps a few more lines preceding the current first three lines would give a greater contextual functionality to the wizard's ruling that intimacy is a sin. Furthermore, the first three lines could be improved metrically; they seem to balk.

Thank you, Frank. I will take a hard look at all your critiques. Thank you for your honest review. It's always a huge help as I am not a poet by genre. Best, JohnC

John what a beautiful love story of Ebb and Flow. I know they are like metaphors of life situations and even romance but your poem is so romantic and shows such love, it's hard not to think of them as anything but lovers. So your smooth rhyming just adds to the beauty of the poem, just as the lovely photo does. Great job my awesome friend and it was also such a peaceful good feeling poem that relaxed me right before bedtime. So thank you John as this was captivating!

The constant tide here reminds us of the fleeting time and how it never stops for anyone. I felt there was also an Adam and Eve moment within your story here, the start of life and its continuances. This is a deeply moving poem and I wish I had a six for you, much enjoyed John, love Dolly x

This is a wonderful poem, that resonates within me, like the beat of the sea does. My judgement doesn't have the value of that of a real poet, but I can appreciate flow, rhyme and meter and I am deeply affected by a good logical story such as that you have offered us. Thank you so much, for this. Kate xx

John, this is beautifully crafted and written.
It has all the elements of lasting love over coming obstacles of wizardry to be together. The presentation itself has an artistic eye.
Best wishes
Mary

PERFECT! Entertaining, light, frivolous, fun. No problems; zero, nada, zilch. Not in spelling, grammar, spacing, punctuation or anything. I look really hard when I review. This one is an example to be held high. If only I could review works of this caliber all day, well, I could review all day. Such a thrill to read something where all I have to do is read and enjoy.

The fantastical topic only added to the perfection of the piece.

Do you get my gist? I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT, I WANT SOME MORE OF IT! Congratulations on this six-star piece of imagery. I very seldom give six-stars for poetry because there is generally just not enough material to appraise, but I have no choice here.

I have to say that, although I usually use all of my six weekly six-star ratings, this is only the second absolutely perfect six-star I have awarded. The first one was the piece I reviewed just before yours. Two in one day is unheard of. I have issued two sixes in one day before but not two perfection sixes. I'd better shut up now, or you are going to have to buy all brand-new hats.

Keep this up and I will never have to get my microscope out again.

    Ha! Gary,
I'm going to frame this one! Knowing the way you critique, this is above an honor to have these words and stars from you. I appreciate it all, and now perhaps I have set an unreasonable bar for myself, lol. Thank you again, Gary. I'm happy you enjoyed this one.
