I bet most of your readers can relate to this. I have a Toyota Scion, a small car that seems to attract big ass SUVs or trucks that park next to me, hiding my red car from view.
Very funny, and I love that no car but a bike was the real means of transportation. This tops my search for my car in the wrong parking garage.
Best wishes,
Mary

Hahahaha. I know this scenario. Experience the first part many times weekly when I'm not with my husband (because, you see, it's HIS job to always know where the car is.) One time, though, when Thunder and I went to the dog park. we walked home afterward, only for me to discover that we'd DRIVEN to the park that day. Definitely one of those Omigawd, it's Alzheimer's!!!! moments.

Anyway, very cute poem, and I enjoyed the artwork you chose, too.

Of all your genres, humor is perhaps your strongest. If you write humor, I will laugh. It's guaranteed. You take a very common experience and break it down so realistically. Haven't we all been convinced that our car has been stolen? In your case, you take the memory loss to the extreme. You did not even drive a car. You rode a bike. Very funny. Bet you win.
Congratulations on your Flash Fiction win. Well deserved. Once again, it was your sense of humor that did it.

It is a pity our cars are not fitted with some sort of homing device and we can't find it with out phone! I am surprised no one has thought of that before. You made me smile here Lisa and I can identify with your well chosen words as it has happened to me before. But here you used a different form of transport! The worst is when you travel by train and then think you took your car and you are searching for your car when it is sat on the driveway at home! Ha ha ha, a good contest entry, love Dolly x

I love it! I can totally relate as I once lost my car in an unfamiliar car park in the city, when I was with my daughter. We were so busy talking we didn't take note of the level, the aspect, the nearest shops, nothing. We walked kilometres to find it I am sure. Your poem is great, super smooth rhyme, and funny (after the event!). Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Lol. So the narrator forgot she actually biked to the store? This reminded me of Kate's story where she drove home in another person's car and someone else drove with her groceries.
Best wishes in the contest!

My experience with this has been embarrassing on a few occasions. The hospital, the mall, and the fair. Even when I dream about parking my car, I can't find it. Taking the kids to the fair, I had parked across the street from a certain bar and asked the policeman where it was.
It is therefore a good idea to look for certain signs, remembering the location. You can also press the remote on the key fob. Thanks for sharing.

My car is a 1996 Toyota - it doesn't have a remote key fob. But it just keeps going reliably so I haven't felt the need to replace it. I'm the only one who uses it - not a family car as I don't have kids - so nobody else is complaining about it.

And you have a better made vehicle than the new ones. So visualize the letter of the spot. Have a great day.

Lol, we've all been here, sometimes certain we're in the right place, staring at the wrong car. I was quite freaked out early this year when we got a new car and it came with an app that shows you where it is on the phone. Handy, of course, but somehow creepy!
