Is his interest in the truck, or the trash?7 total reviews

This is a short story with a morbid twist to it. How could a young boy be happy about throwing his dead mother's body into the trash and having it compacted in the garbage truck. Did his dad kill her? This is so sad and horrible. On the positive side, I was hoping that maybe his mom is the garbage truck driver.
Congrats on winning the contest.

I am out of six stars, so we must go with five. This short, concise, little story somewhat leaves a loose interpretation for the reader. --calls for a bit of contemplation.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh, dear, no one waved at Billy from the truck, did they? I'd like to think that mom has what is traditionally a man's job, but . . .
Awesome job with this challenge, congratulations on the win!

I read part two, so we have an idea what happened to mom. That was a well written little piece and was a good entry for the contest. I may stop by to read more of your work when I get the time. Evi

Thank you so much for the six stars and for going back and reading part one. I would be honored if you would read and review more of my work.

Well, this was scary as all get out, Monica. You did a good
job with your contest entry. The picture added to its scariness.
The twist at the end can be taken more than one way--but I'm
thinking not in a good way.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thank you! My intent was to leave the ending with more than one option (but honestly, I'm thinking it's not a good thing either - lol).

This eighty-word flash fiction story, Billy, has the proper word count and sends the grisly notion that Billy and dear old Dad have sent Mommy to the landfill. Sweet.
