I like "sweetbread goodness," that's right down my alley. She sounds like she has had a full and active life. Now she is just waiting but enjoying her wait as much as she enjoyed her life.
Your description almost sounds like this could be a real person.
Very descriptive and full of imagery. Good job.

Shucks, I'll be 68 in November. We can snap, crackle and pop together. LOL This woman reminds me of me. Thanks for the review and the chuckle.

Now HERE'S a kind of woman everyone would want to know...and she's one I aspire to be! I even HAVE a friend like this who's still, at 90, THE most capable, entertaining, fascinating, good-listening friend of all. She lives my life motto: Always choose joy!
Nice entry into this fun contest! I bet it does really well!!! xo

Lol, I enjoyed the cheeky twist in the tail/tale and the knowing tone throughout. This has a delicious sense of fun and it's just the ticket for my contest :-).

Thanks, Mike for the review. I did not note this was one of your contests. Cool! to know! Are you given anything for running a contest? I got nothing for the one I did.

I get to pay $3 to create it - that's all - but I don't mind. I saw a forum post by a new member saying contests cost too much, so I thought I'd make some that are $1 entry fee - low stakes, just for fun :-). I was happy to see your name pop up, my friend!

Thanks, you always have interesting prompts. For sure one member dollars makes it affordable for most.

Excellent entry for the Make me Laugh writing prompt Contest. You grasped the free verse. form well. Nice presentation.... love the picture. Your descriptive words flow well expressing clear mental imagery. The grandma had a playful attitude I love. She was funny too.
Good luck in the contest.

Lol. Delightfully humorous and positive poem and a great response to the prompt. Of course, the last lline is the killer punchline that gives the poem its kick. Well done.
