Oh my goodness, Willie, I am so very sorry for your loss. I simply cannot fathom the passing of my beloved husband.
Your poetic offering is incredibly heartfelt and moving. I, too, share the kind of closeness with my husband as you did with your beloved Carol.

Thank you for sharing!

This was a vulnerable poem. Your word choice made her appear beside you even though you regularly stated you walk alone. Then at the very end ,with the phrase in the authors notes about still walking without her but it isn't the same, it was real. Someone you love has passed. This was quite beautiful in a bittersweet way. Your love was deep and special and you pay tribute to her by continuing to do the the things you once did together. You will forever carry those special walks in your heart. Very sorry for your loss.

My condolences, Willie. Your loss is sad yet bittersweet. I love the loyalty you showed her this is romantic through and through.
Though she has left you her memories will keep her alive in your mind and heart.
I like the blue handwritten script you used it looks like you wrote it long hand.
Thanks for showing your love for her.
Your willingness to bear your heart is sweet.

-Nice image and presentation, Willie.
-Your note is appreciated.
-This is a very good, heartfelt poem
and shows the love you and your wife had.
-The images and rhyme create a good
word picture of the times you had together.
-I like the line about her eyes and the
repeating line about walking alone.
-This is one of your best poems and
deserves a six star rating and more!
-I think your wife is smiling and
letting you know she likes the poem, too.

It's so sad when one dies leaving the other to mourn alone, Willie. When life has been shared for so many years, it's like losing half of ones self. We must always make the most of our time together. That's exactly what you did. You must have some wonderful memories of your years together, perhaps you could share some with is. I enjoyed your lovely poem, you chose the perfect picture to compliment it. Well done! Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

The loneliness one feel when the significant other is gone is terrible. You have touchingly portrayed it in these sweet and simple lines. "I walk alone" says quite a lot ....

Sorry no sixes. This is beautifully written, so rich in emotion. As poetry, the rhyme, meter and delivery is sensational. It flows and reads so smoothly.
May I extend to both you and your family.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This poem is a beautiful remembrance of better times when you and your wife, Carol, often walked the wooded path near your home, hand-in-hand, singing, talking, and laughing.

Though you walk alone now that she is gone, these memories are far better than sad ones would be. If you believe her loving soul outlives her physical form, then continue talking to her as you walk, as she will hear you even if the words are only in your mind. She may not respond in words, but you may sense her spiritual presence as solace until you meet again beyond this world. The strong love you shared will not fade away as long as you continue to cherish the memory.

Your poem rhymes well in aabb quatrains, and flows relatively smoothly despite the irregular meter matching the beat of a heart grieving loss.

Superb, and you have chosen the illustration image well to fit the theme.

Please accept my condolences along with the well-earned Six. -- Mike

Walking where you used to walk together must bring warm memories and profound loss... I'm so sorry Carol has passed and so happy you both were blessed with such love!

I can understand. Your poem is both beautiful and sad. It is hard to walk in the same places where you have such vivid memories of your shared love. A lovely write. Best wishes.
