Oh my! Was this whole story of walking dogs on the moon directed towards that punny ending? Ha ha. I like the reminder that dogs had space suits before humans.

Lol. Yep, that was a long long way around just for the silly punchline but I had fun with it. Thank you for the great review and stars, Bill. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this silliness.

I did NOT see that coming! Between the hysterical ending and the fun image of those pups floating about, tethered to Armstrong's flag pole, no WONDER you took first place!
Congratulations!

Hey, Karenina, hi. Yeah, I had to come up with something I knew was going to be the norm for this contest. Lol. I wanted to come up with the most outrageous place to take a pet, so the moon it was. Ha. Thank you for the great review and congrats, K. I'm glad you liked this silliness. Have yourself a great rest of your day.

I had already chosen my choice to win when I happened upon Sugar and changed my mind when all asunder Dragonskulls popped up, and now my dilemma is all screwed up. Well done.

I like the thought of the dogs on the moon barking, and that last line of yours was cute. I enjoyed the read and you did a great job. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon. Shirley

I think I sense a little "tongue-in-cheek" with (monkey-pox) and ('straight' boyfriend's)
A couple of suggestions:
Para 2, 3rd sentence: Add comma after (Of course)
Para 7, 3rd sentence: SUGGEST changing (lept) to (leapt or leaped); "lept is an obsolete spelling of leapt seldom seen since the 1500s, back before the standardization of English spelling."(english.stackexchange.com)
Para 8, 1st sentence: (flag pole) should be (flagpole)
Para 9, 2nd sentence: SUGGEST (;) instead of (,) The two phrases can stand alone, thus a semi-colon works best.
Para 10, 9th sentence (in to) should be (into)
Great "twisted" fairy tale. The Bark side of the moon? Wasn't that an album by the "Pekingese Floyd"
Fun story.

Haha, Pekingese Floyd.
Hey, Gary, hi. Thank you for the fantastic review and for finding all the goofs, my friend. I fixed most of them. I was sort of meaning 'in to' as being separate there than one word. Not actually sure why but...
I really appreciate you stopping in and the helpful review, my friend. Have yourself a great rest of your weekend.

My pleasure. It was a fun read.

LOL!! That ending had me curled up! On the bark side of the moon! I was well and truly caught with that one! This was such a fun story, and an excellent contest entry. I think it will be a very strong contender. Well done, and good luck! :)) Sandra xx

Okay, I have to know, how did they make pee-pee? Or is there a bag to catch all that in the suits?
I like this contest entry because it's fictional, fun, and "out there". So far, all of the entries I've read are the usual trip with dog stories. Judges like creativity, and this certainly has it.
So, will a follow-up tell us how this motley crew gets back home again, or will we leave them on the bark side of the moon?
Good luck,
Pam

Lol. Yep, they have the pee and pooh advanced engineering dog suits. Around a hundred and eighty million, government spending, dollars each. A small price to pay for moon rocks. Ha
That's what I figured as well, the same old 'I took my pet for a car ride' was going to be the norm for this contest. I had to think outside the litter box just a little bit.
They all make it home safe and sound after moonrock aliens decide we're more of a menace than a threat and slingshot us back to earth.
Thank you for the fantastic review and good luck wishes, Pam. I'm glad you liked this silliness.

Well, you made me laugh at your pun at the end of your story. I wondered where you were going with this. It flows great and kept me reading until the end. LOVE the pic. My favorite part was you throwing a ball inside the capsule to get the dogs in there. I have memories of crinkling a potato chip bag to get a dog in the car for a trip to the vet. Also loved taking the dogs for a "float". Good luck at the booth. I think this will do well. Great trip! lol

Yeah, I went a looooong way around just to get to the stupid punchline. Lol. I saw this trailer for a movie where there were aliens on the moon and they had hammerhead shark heads and the title was 'The Shark Side of the Moon.' I came up with a few different ridiculous ideas stemming from that and coming across this contest, I went with this dumb way with it. My next idea will be as many Clarks as I can come up with, overtaking half of the moon. Yeah, the Clark side of the moon. Haha.
Thank you so much for the awesome review and giant sixer, Lynda. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this ridiculous piece.

So, you went for it, really? Bark side of the moon? I can see the pun was intended as the last line of the fictionalized tale. I can hear a large groan from all the Pink Floyd fans!
Otherwise, I would say this was entertaining and you really had me up and until the last pun. Fun and enjoyable this has the umph of a true story without being boring.
Thanks for the laughs!

Thank you for the great review, Jesse. I saw a trailer for a new movie coming out where there were aliens on the moon and their heads are shaped like hammer head sharks. And it titled, "The Shark Side of the Moon." So that's where this dumb idea came from. The whole ridiculous story was written just to get to that. lol I really appreciate the stars friend. Sorry for the disappointing ending. I'm glad you liked this silly piece.

Ha. I love it! Shark side of the moon!
You have got to hand it to these movie Mongols when they come up for the kill!
Thanks, again, Ron, for the laughs!

This is hilarious and I was entertained, I loved the punch line but I laughed at the about the suits for dogs without gravity boots that left them floating about in space suits. This is inventive and humorous and I enjoyed the ride to the moon, love Dolly x

Thank you for the great review, Dolly. I just had to come up with something no one else would have. What could be more obscure than taking your dogs to the moon? Lol. I dearly appreciate the generous stars, Dolly. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this silliness.
