I just came across your poem and you have my sympathy. It's terrible when we lose a pet.
I would have torn that vet to shreds, physically and financially. Hope he's out of business now.
May Lee's memory live on.

Thank you for reading and reviewing my wee poem.

I changed vet and told those that I knew with pets what happened.

No, he is still in business .. he also runs a sanctuary for wounded wildlife.

Maybe he has improved but I would never go back to him.

So sad to lose a beloved pet. Those of us who really do care for our pet will seldom be the same without him or her. I feel for you because you are right, I am sure Lee could have been helped. We "laymen" just have nothing at our disposal to use in these situations. We depend on the professionals to help us. When they fail, it makes it even that much more difficult.

So sorry for your loss.

Yes, it's always sad to lose a pet especially if you have to put them to sleep. You make the choice because you don't them to suffer.

When our pets die they leave a void but in time that void is filled with happy memories made with them over the years.

Thinking of Boobalee I still feel upset because he suffered due to the vet's incompetence.

Our pets( babies) definitely leave a void when they died.

In time that void is filled with the many happy memories made with them.

I have had to put to sleep most of my pets; it?s not easy but you make the decision because you don?t want them to suffer.

My poor Lee suffered and when I think back it still pains me.

You had many cats so you know how I feel.

I?m sorry for your many losses too.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have stroked a pet while they died, also. Your poem was very sad, but it was well-written.
I wouldn't have let the vet cut open my baby, either.

Thanks for your kind words.

Before Boobalee I had had to put down several pets . I have always been their to comfort them right to the end.

It?s a painless process for the animal at least.

For the owner it s devastating but you do it to avoid more suffering to your baby.

Hearing Boobalee wailing and then seeing him gasping was horrible.

It s always saddening to lose a pet but that last 1/2 hour still makes me feel bad he suffered.
