I went to a school that leaned toward Calvinism. But one thing I lived by and stated was, "God is sovereign enough to create true choice or free will.
What many Calvinist do is try to capsulize God, and give him the opposite of what they assume they offer, his own creation power to make a world with choices. I like the simple and clear way you presented this and esp. the powerful verses at the end. Blessings around the bend!!

Nicely written. Hope it reaches some one.
"He is rightly and justly held accountable for his own lostness." - lower case 'he'. The cap implies diety and could be confusing.
"Christ already died for all the sins of all men so the truth remains, the rejection of the Savior is the ONLY sin which sends a man to Hell." - So asking forgiveness is un-necessary? (1Jn 1:9)
Best wishes.

Thanks Wayne. Fixed the typo you caught.

"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40 NKJV

Have you believed in Christ and thus received the eternal life He brings?
Wonderful! Now get strong, reinforced by the wonderful grace of His Word!

I've sometimes wondered if Calvin, was just a theologian who ministered to the equally uninspired, but wanted to be clever. Although I wandered around blind for half my life, I didn't understand who and what Christ was. I listened to TV evangelists tell me that I was a "dirty rotten sinner, repent." But my internal conversation was "I know that, but what saves me" so I do understand the alternative view. But it is so simple to the believer when He realises what Christ has done, and, like me, receives eternal life so gratefully, but God delayed my "seeing" deliberately, (I think, my theory, not His) until I would be so grateful, that I would be "sold out" forever! And I am! Great post, Calvin didn't leave much room for God, did he? Blessings Roy

Thanks Roy. Ironically, in trying to exalt the sovereignty of God (which no believer disputes) Calvin distorted salvation meant for all into a perverted spiritual lottery.

In essence, a theological argument against Calvinism that utilizes the scripture as the basis for your arguments. In many ways, this is an argument that is beyond me in terms of angst, but it was an interesting read.

Thank you for reviewing. I certainly admit to a good deal of angst, since Calvinism makes God a monster by perverting the scriptures.

I don?t hat Calvinists, and recognize many as sincere believers in Christ. However, I do hate the system..

This is a very good post you have penned that is so full of the truth. I am so thankful that I do love and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. I believe He is the only way to the Father. Thank you for sharing my friend. May God bless you today and always! Teri

The objective correlative of your work reminisces the Calvinist's belief that all that happens on earth has already been preordained by God.

The work highlights belief in the son of God as the fulcrum of salvation; and as a corollary seeing those saved as products of that conviction; and those not saved as victims of disbelief in the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes synonymous with salvation through belief in Jesus Christ.

Excellent work. Bravo.

I am not argueing with you because I don't know anything about Calvanism. You said they aren't Christian, so they don't believe in Jesus, or do they only half misguided teachings? Great job as always. Now I have a question for you that I have wondered about. Satan and the fallen angels were created by God, to my understanding. Where did their sin come from? God wouldn't have given it to them in my way of thinking. Have a blessed day, my friend. Shirley

    Hi Shirley,
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I should have made clear, there are man Christians caught in Calvinism, yet they are still Christians. The big error of Calvinism is in their understanding of God's predestination of the elect.

Their teaching on the matter, properly understood, makes God look like a monster. I'll go back and edit this piece to point out you can be a Calvinist and a Christian. We can be wrong on many things and still be saved if we are right on Jesus...trusting Him alone to save us.

Satan was perhaps the most powerful Angel God created. However, one day, in the midst of Heaven, he said in his heart, "I will be like the Most High", and immediately he fell, an outcast of Heaven. The Bible tells us he took one third of the angels with him, a testimony to his lying persuasiveness. They are demons and will utterly perish with Satan in the Lake of Fire with all who believed his lies.

Thanks again, Sister Shirley, and God bless you, YBIC, Dennis

Thanks for the explanation. So you are saying Satan had free will, as we here do. Shirley

Yes, Satan acted on his own else God would be the source of sin which of course He never is.
