Why do nations plot?

Well written! And it's so sad to me that the nations want to shake their chains off, not knowing that the chains they're under are the very things they crave. God isn't chains. God is freedom. But they see lust and desire as their goal. They are actually the chains. Sad.
This always makes me think of Rich Mullins 'While the Nations Rage'.

A wonderful post, my friend :) Your messages are always inspiring.
My favorite part:
Let all God's children sing, rejoice,
they clap their hands, to song give voice.
They shout and dance, declare with glee,
the Lord be praised for faith's decree.
Thanks for sharing!
Always your fan,
Shana :)

Hi Roy,
Many years ago, when I was just 32 years old, I had a Christian band called "The Potter's Clay". We used to put on concerts at various churches, and the local Gospel Jamboree put on by Frank & Marg Lunn at the Westfield School auditorium. One of the songs we did several times was "Clap Your Hands" by LAMB. Your poem made me recall that song, here it is...

A fine one based on "Why do the nations plot and the heathen imagine a vain thing?" God is and will always be in control and rebellion against Him is futile. Thanks for sharing.

Men are full of greed and feel they are powerful and in control and they are foolish because in the end they find their power is weak compared to the Lord.

It's all about power. If a country has a lot of land and wealth, it rules. China wants Taiwan, Russia wants Ukraine. Waging war to gain more land has been part of history for centuries. God may have the last laugh if nations pursue their desire for power. I like your optimism in your last stanza, that faith's flame will spark. We need to get some stability in the world. judi

We have a saying in Israel
" From your mouth to his ear."
I hope he's listening.
A joy to read.
A little heart strengthening
Goes a long way.
As long as one is persistent. :-))Z.

I hear you, Roy. God doesn't love according to imaginary boundaries marking nations around the world. The wars and battles surely do not please Him...and it seems futile, doesn't it, when we all are his children, to squabble amongst ourselves!

Roy, This is a very good poem asking a very good question. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. Thank you for the great scriptures also. Blessings, Teri

Thank you for your poem based on Psalm 2! I could recognize it immediately from the title. I found it most comforting that you end with "
God's light will dawn, as Earth grows dark,
His time has come, faith's flame will spark."
We, His children, can keep praising Him and trusting in Him.
