Your article brought back many memories. It was a sad day for America. Through him, we seemed to live in a world of Camlot. He made our country and future look so bright. America seemed to go downhill after his death. NICELY WRITTEN, WELL PACE, GOOD LUCK.

That is certainly a very vivid and powerful memory. Even I as a young Australian girl have that memory as one of those "frozen in time" moments when I heard the news. A very well-written story. The last line is indeed ironic! Best wishes for your entry.

Hello author, the day that President John F Kennedy was shot is a day that will remain with us forever. I think everyone remembers where they were when JKF was shot. I was in the 3rd grade. Our classrooms had TV's. The teachers put the News on, and we watched. School was released shortly thereafter. I enjoyed reading your story. Although I'm not from Texas, I know that football is a big deal in TX. I remember the funeral recession, and John John's salute. Who would ever think that he would die so young too? Of special note:
"This is so beautiful. I could stay here forever."

I was in elementary school my teacher stood before the class and announced that the president had earlier been shot and rushed to the hospital; then, before we left school for home, we were notified that the President had died. A moment that is as real and heartbreaking today as it was in 1963. Thanks for sharing. I wish I had a six.

Ronnie and I rented a TV from 7-11 for $10 a week and watched every minute. Your story brings back those memories and shares another view of that day. That was a horrifying day. I remember it well. I had already graduated from high school and had my first job. I couldn't stop crying as a result of the shock that a president could be shot. Your account of that tragedy is well written and includes all the pertinent information. Best wishes in the contest.
