Perhaps because I played baseball all four years of high school and usually rode the bench like your Speaker, I was able toy live this story vicariously. You do a splendid job of setting the scene and getting us quickly into the game. Your description of your time at bat and that "bony ass" romp to home plate was exciting. Just enough description of the 9th inning to give us an exciting finish. I thoroughly enjoyed this narrative which was well-crafted. Rod
