Spot on. A home run. tater's all around. Frowns turned around. Your vernacular is yours alone. Your intro speaks volumes. Are we related? Writing nonsense comes easily to me and by the way I released one yesterday. "Feeling Crazy."

Tom I just read your two most recent posts. You are one hell of a writer. I'm green with envy. And inspired. Thank you.

The author's words are true, upsetting, clear, descriptive and creative.
The poem made me smile. Yet I must say after looking up what doyen means - it is definitely the perfect title for this poem! It upsets he was our president and would even think of running again! The poem flows and connects well. Thank you for the author's notes. This was a great account
of the current situation!

I really expected to be flooded with abusive replies. Fortunately, to date that's not happened. In my view, an Aussie view at that, I see him as divisive, and I truly believe a country cannot progress forward without unity. I really mean it when I say God Bless America, but I'm just not sure if the Good Lord wants to be Donald's deputy.

I have no idea what Trump has done but he is certainly being hounded by those socialists who are a bunch of bullies! I fear for the future of America as freedom of speech has gone out of the window and the saying "land of the free" has a sour and bitter taste as people's liberty is being taken from them. I enjoyed your clever rhymes Bob and your humour here, love Dolly x

I too have no idea what he's done, but what I fear is what he may do in the future. I'm not sure the man can be trusted

The problem with Trump is that he would not take advice about his image and he was too loose with his words on twitter and people misread his true intentions. He wants the best for America, but he needs a good PR agent to get him back on track, love Dolly x

I'm not sure if it's funny or frightening. The thought of Donald having access to the button concerns me.

Oh yes, you must be referring to Donald Trump, he's the the devil incarnate now, but I must admit I'm not a fan, some Christian folk thought that he was "God's man" but I didn't really believe that. But God chooses whom He chooses, even "vessels of wrath" this is a great post Bob, some yanks may not like it. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

This is written with a degree of jest, but also with more skepticism. I fear for the world's future,

This is written in jest, but also in a moment of fear. I believe he has an impossible job, I just pray he's capable of making the right decision.

Thank you for reviewing my poem. I have noted all your corrections, apologies, obviously I didn't proofread prior to posting. Yes, I do live in Australia, and I must admit our politicians also leave much to be desired.

Loved it! Great job with your political satire and the alliterative "doyen of deceit!" It reminds me a bit of John Lithgow's poems on the same doyen of deceit.
Congratulations on the 500th post!

One suggestion:
old Donnie many lies (Donnie's)

Thank you for such a positive comment. I must confess I've not heard of John Lithgow. Where could I find his work.
reply by lyenochka on 10-Aug-2022
If you google him, you'd see all his clever political poems. You'd also recognize him as the actor in TV shows and movies. Blessings!

Well, for my money, you got Donnie dead to rights. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Yanks who'll disagree with you. And those Yanks ... they are a vocal lot. I'm not afraid to tell you if they can't find a legal way to shackle him, and he gets the nomination, America may be in for one more scary run. Hmmmm, Robert ... no prose for your old buddy?

Prose is coming soon old buddy. I'm almost ready to start another.
Back to this, I'm rather disappointed, I didn't receive one comment of criticism. I really expected an avalanche of abuse. One doesn't attack the President.
reply by Jay Squires on 10-Aug-2022
LOL, one of Trump's advisors confessed that the President was adamant about firing missiles into Mexico to stop drug trafficking. Few Americans are foolish enough to support the antics of that clown.

I'm so excited about your forthcoming novel. Will it be the same character at the helm?
reply by the author on 11-Aug-2022
no, it's going to be something completely different. My lead characters will be a group of eccentric California singers named the J. S. Choirs.
