A very good collection of descriptive words and rhyming here Wendy and with it you do give us the sense of the hustle and bustle of a noisy big city. I enjoyed this poem, well done. Cheers

The author's words are engaging, busy, interesting, thought provoking,
descriptive and creative. I pondered on the words of this poem. Sometimes I feel this way! I love the last stanza and especially the last
line! It made me smile! The artwork is awesome!

Aching for a six for this fine work. Outstanding form and presentation. I agree, the big city is draining at least after awhile. I find the country way of life more invigorating. Sending you my best today as always,

Thanks so much Sally. I appreciate your super review.
(By the way I don't think I ever told you that when I was a child, my doll was called "Sally Jackson". Lol.)

This sounds like a very confusing trip to any metropolitan area today. I wouldn't even risk going to any of our big cities today. Too much unbridled crime and anger.

Very good description of that bustling city though.

Thanks Gary. Great review. We don't have so much the crime and anger issue (pockets of it always, but not a major concern) - but the noise!! Outside cafés, and restaurants with outdoor dining as well, crowded and noisy, music at full volume ...!
    Thanks for reviewing.

I was thinking that this was a new style for you, but then I thought, "Michaela, how would you know? You have only begun to read her work." But then your notes confirmed it! : ) I love the word play so much and the rich vocabulary you use that produces all the lovely sounding rhymes. Even though you are playing with words and rhymes, your choices are so intelligent. Bravo!

Totally agree with you. People have become a seething mass of protoplasm and the cacophny of noise we have to listen to. whether we like it or not. To the country, to the bush, freedom, life, noiseless only animals. Oh, the bulldozers have moved in! Great use of words, great presentation and I liked your poem much. K XX

This poem is a jarring social commentary on the confusing and chaotic state of modern society. Thanks for the note that provides your background thoughts on the poem.

I enjoyed this verse very much!
It's colorful, fun,
lighthearted, and
whimsical!!
It was a delight to read this evening.
After an ear full of news, this made me smile!!
The metre used, creates a sing- song quality and the tempo is quick and playful.
Your muse spoke to you loud and clear!
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, life in the city can be harried. I feel that here where my parents live. I much rather be where we can be more in touch with nature. Great job with all your observations of sounds, sights, and sensations.
