This is absolutely beautiful and refreshing, the words and thoughts, along with the amazing photo, providing the same calm as seated meditation. Equating the sun rising with the Son of God and the sun of the universe, creatively provides a powerful message and reminder that we are to live as one in the glory of Christ and His gifts and blessings provided for us. Well done. Stunning photo.

I think people don't realise that the very person who came and died for our sins is the very same one who made this divine world and everything in it, God hides it a little, so we have have to go looking, but when one's knows what a world of difference that makes, beautifully written Tom, a very uplifting poem in free verse, blessings Roy

Your poem is built on those classic images of the sun representing Jesus, the light of the world, and the water that washes away sins from Hebrew traditions. You have a nice, relaxed, personable style that is inviting to listen to. estory

That is ice to hear. Thank you. My mind is independent of thought and outside of Olde English masters what I pen is mine alone.

This is such a grace-filled poem, Tom. It seems I am never more at peace and in tune with my faith as when I take in the beauty of His creation. Love the sun and the Son... Both offer light and truth and warmth!
I especially liked:
"dig your toes in righteousness
letting improprieties wash to sea."

Excellent picture choice to accompany your beautiful Faith Poem Tom.
Vivid imagery that allowed the reader to see your faith through your eyes.
Powerful message as well - we do need the Son of God who created us all.
Blessings

Thank you. How He can be denied?.. idk. Peter tried and failed.

Tom, this is wonderful and beautiful, and I love the thoughts you offer about the sun and the Sun. The only suggestion is to move the comma in the fourth stanza, to come after "hope". The comma indicates a slight pause, and then the purpose is revealed: "so we can start anew ..."
It's an excellent entry, and I hope it does well in the contest.

Lol. Grammarly doesn't know everything! Obviously you and I are both right!

Mea Culpa. I went with my original. Thanks for the salutation and support.

The poem is as beautiful as the picture. You have done a fine job. I enjoyed every line. The words flow like a moving picture on film. Thank you for sharing the things God created for us to enjoy on this earth. Have a great day.

Thanks. Strange how humanity overlooks the grandness that surrounds us and then asserts it was all self-made from the dismalality (sic) of a swamp. Hmm.

Yes and you are welcome.

nice commentary on seeing the peace and love in nature's beauty particularly in a special place like the Outer Banks. I have been there a few times and it is indeed one of God's place.

The Outer Banks remain the same today but the days when beach homes were shacks, and had grass growing through the cracks, no a/c were far better. You could search the skies without ambient light and marvel at the glory.
