Roy, this is so beautiful. You never cease to amaze me with the injection of meaning and the takeaway of God's word. Your writings are always so beautiful and sincere. Best, JohnC

I really enjoyed reading this wonderfully written poem. You are so talented with words. Yes it's true that none of us get any younger, yet our hearts are still young and thoughts are still young. I couldn't agree more. A very reflective poem, be Roy. Ulla:)))

I know that you are speaking of yourself in this poem, but so much of it made me feel the way I feel sitting in the church so much of the time. A lot of what you say is also true of the body of Christ and how it feels to be inside an old church that has been around a long time and watched as its body that worships inside revives and grows cold and changes and transforms. Lovely descriptions and imagery.

-Very nice artwork and presentation, Roy.
-A well written poem with a good topic.
-Effective imagery, meter, and rhyme.
-I like the smooth flow if ideas, as well
as the division between young and old ideas.
-The "old rock songs" and "reflex fast"
in contrast to aging but still with a young heart.
-You do a good job showing how you changed
over time with different ideals and using what
you learned from your experiences.
-That is a good model to follow.
-Thanks for sharing it and have a good day!

You really show the effects old age has on a person's body. All those wrinkles, able to run fast, etc. Yes, age takes its toll. I really like that positive line, "Though I am old, my heart is not." That's the important thing. Beautiful statement in your last stanza about death not taking Christ down, for he arose and in doing so took the narrator's hand. Elegantly expressed and with excellent rhyme. judi

A good combination of the young man you were, and the older man you are now, but we never forget the young person beneath our wrinkly skin, do we. A lovely spiritual finish to another great poem, Roy.
cheers,

As I read, I had to stop and contemplate the powerful message presented. I'm older now, and recall much from my younger years. My brain thinks I am still there, but my body quickly sends out reminders. Lol. Your poem tells us that Christ's death was so we could live "with God in Beulah Land." Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

This is a very stirring poem, Roy!! It is so full of hope and faith, giving us a glimpse into what first stirred your heart. By now, I think we all know Who you walk with and Who holds your heart, but, my friend, you have a wonderful way of presenting it day after blessed day.

Thanks for the reminder,
Rhonda

Why is it that it seems it takes getting old to really turn to God. I could repeat every one of your verses and apply them to my own experience. I am just glad i finally woke up and realized what was what.

Good one.

I agree with you on every level, Roy, and like you, my body is old, but my heart and spirit is young. I loved this one, (I love them all) it showed so much what life can be like if you are raised with Christ. Well done, my dear friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx
