the meaning of love can be cruel or caring. once we are lost in love we are lost in its cruelty or caring. love can be the will of cruelty but sometime we care for that cruelty. your poem was structure with deep thoughts and deep meaning. thanks for the read.

Your contest entry was well done, Mystery Author, the image was
perfect for Love Bites--what else but Frankenstein--your rhymes worked
well, and the font choice has an eerie feel to it when read after
viewing the image. Your words had smooth flow and a great and
true message. Yes, sometimes one has to kiss a lot of toads before
their prince appears. I liked the subtle changes in the last line
that led to the final one where she found her one and only.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

You've written an excellent poem for the Love Bites contest,
a little takeoff on Rhett Butler's famous line,
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
and clever connection to Frankenstein himself.
Smooth meter and excellent rhymes;
I take it that's one of the new fonts too.
Well done.
Good luck in the contest.
Robert

It may be worth a try. Who knows. It will not take long to figure him out. Time will tell. Some are good at playing us for a fool. However, we get smart. And when we are through, they will know what time it is. I enjoyed reading your poem. Have a great day.

An interesting one, and I am assuming that the last stanza refers to a different person? Having been disillusioned by the former lover, and found out a lot she is now ready for a new and different experience. Best wishes for your entry.

Wendy, the second to last stanza was actually about the picture which was Frankenstein and the last one is about my husband, I had his name in there but took it out so the whole thing seemed fiction. I usually don't swear, but I loved the Gone with the wind saying so I went with that and Frankenstein picture. So thanks so much for your lovely review of my version how love bites. : )

Yes, I thought it was Frankenstein, especially as you had "Frank"-ly in the title, and the relevance to "Love bites", as he did! Very subtly done, and thoughtfully worked.

Well, that was cute. Now it would be really cute if your name was Scarlet. But, whether it is or it isn't, frankly, I don't give a damn. Good luck on your 'Love Bites' entry.

wow, that is Frankenstein. I didn't notice the bolt in the side of his neck. Now that you mention it, I think I remember that pic or something close in a black and white film.

You made me smile as your uncaring words at the beginning turned into love and hope for a long lasting relationship, you were hooked in here. A fun poem and I enjoyed the rhyme scheme, love Dolly x

You got some pretty neat twists in this work, and some, very true to life.
I liked the picture, a parody on one of the most famous films of all time, and Rhett Butler's stunning line, incorporated into your verse!
That deadly attraction has taken many to task, nad we seem to keep repeating our error.
The capper is when you see 40 year married couples, all love and attraction gone, still together just from spite.
Yeah what a world!
