I totally agree and that was sort of my implication in my sci-fi story (which did badly in the contest!) but yes, we need to be united against a common enemy which is the devil and we don't realize we are being attacked on all sides by the evil one.

well, let's hope that's not the case. What we need is people with common sense and a love of country. I, personally, am more concerned for America. We are in a heap of trouble and the crazies seem to be winning.
But the boy is right, we need a common something that both sides would hate, to unite our country. And since we don't have any aliens handy, maybe if those who want socialism would take the time to know what it really involves, then they might change their tune.
Your 75 word flash fiction makes a good point.
