Interestingly, the reality is that it is often disasters which bring people together, to work in unity and to offer comfort and support. Well written in as short framework, and a social commentary as well.

Perfect story as I almost submitted one with the exact same answer. Why do we humans always have to be arguing with someone and only come together for mutual aid? Were you by chance thinking of God and his Son? I hadn't considered that possibility. Best wishes for the 75-word flash contest.

As crazy as it may sound, kids sometimes have the correct answers, while adults find ways to discount the answers. In movies, nations work together when there is a world threat. In reality, nations race to see who can be first, and debate who is in control. Let's hope there is never an attack by Hostile Aliens. Best wishes in the contest.

This sounds like one of the 1950s marvel comics, that was my first thought, Then next to tell you that I enjoyed the 75 words Flash Fiction.
-Great dialogue. Vivid photo, had the feel and plot of a superhero comic, hero that saves the world.

Nah, we'd just argue over who was in charge of killing the aliens and factions would view to make the biggest incursions to nobody would coordinate. And the populace? They'd watch the world burn before agreeing to conscription. They'd be more likely to organise a march against invasion and complain that the government wasn't taking the right action. Meanwhile, actors and musicians would make speeches about the 'obvious' best course of action that everyone else should be taking...
