Your poem in my opinion creates great imagery, sparks the imagination, and is the best of the bunch. Unfortunately most people on this site don't always agree with what I think is good. Good luck with contest.

"Sweet Dance" arouses in all of us the recollection of watching the effects of a flame upon shadows. This is an ordinary but very beautiful, mesmerizing experience that never fails to delight. I wondered whether this six-word poem could be improved by dropping the articles and choosing either adjectives or appositives for the two word-spots gained. Maybe - but this is a beauty, a simple poem attaining its power from its choice of subject.

This is excellent work. Your word choices are powerful and evocative. They create a memorable and impactful image. Using the word, "The" twice is effective as it highlights the cause and effect relationship between, "flickers" and "dance."

Interesting poem with lots of room for interpretation. The title "Sweet Dance" makes me think of a romantic time. But the few words of the poem could be a comment about the fragile dance of life as seen in the flickering flame of a candle. Best wishes in the contest!
