Oh Sandra! You have penned this so beautifully and with great meaning. Another war victim. Every mage you have chosen is so thoughtful, and just right. Best wishes for your entry, it's excellent.

You also are a great writer, and you had my vote for "Hello, I know!"
It was very close for the pet contest, and I loved your poem too. Congratulations on placing second. I have a rescue dog too, called Sunny. He sometimes writes stories for FS! Rescue pets have so much love to give. They're the best!!

You have written a heartbreaking poem full of pathos and sadness. A good entry for the contest, good luck. I love the open line, and the line about love drops is full of vivid imagery. Exceptional work. Terry.

The closeness of our loved ones gives us a sixth sense of what is going on with them even before a phone call. Thanks for your sharing about your heroic brother, not only for his service but his brave fights with cancer, which helps us rally strength for our battles, too.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thanks for the review, but it is my older brother. I am too young to be his mom.

You did a great job with this heart-wrenching poem,
Sandra. The image and color scheme worked well.
Your lines were smooth, and the words created great
imagery. Your notes add another poignant layer to the
theme of your poem.

Thanks for sharing, Jan

Your poem is exceptional in every respect--skillfully composed and vividy descriptive, making effective use of expressive figures of speech (for example, "love drops") and alliteration to convey a heart-wrenching message about waking up . . . already knowing!

-Thanks for sharing the artwork, notes, and poem, Sandra.
-I am sorry to hear about your brother, who served his country with honor.
-I am sure he is proud of that service, and sounds like the type of
person who takes what he is given and doesn't complain.
-My dad served in the Air Force, and he was that way, never complaining, just taking whatever came his way.
-You write this with excellent imagery describing a difficult and emotional situation.
-A good entry; good luck in the contest.

Well I have prayed for him, and others will I know, his best chance is to put himself in the hands of the Lord, beautifully written dear friend, it saddens me, but be brave, give him support, well done, blessings Roy

Poignant and brilliantly laid out with your emotional word choice. The end hit me right in the middle of my heart. You craft your endings to your poems with such powerful punches. Thank you for tackling a sad subject. You did it so lovingly and memorably.
