This is an interesting story about your husband's family's history. You have also done a great job of writing about one of my heroes, Tammy Duckworth. She is quite amazing, and Illinois has been proud of her for years.

Thank you Carol. I'm glad to find someone who knows about Tammy and really likes her. I didn't know much about her until was trying to find a Duckworth some one lnew about. I hope she manages to keep her seat in November.

Nice writing.
The doctor was surprised he had survived this long. - You might want to reconsider 'this long' since the reference to time is lost on readers. Maybe - as long as he had?
You began with an expose on genealogy of one line of your family, but the piece morphed into a tribute to a single person. I'm not sure that was your original intent.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne. I took your suggestion about changing the line about the boy. I've been tying to include something of people with the name who have become well known for the sake of others out there familiar with the family. Unfortunately there haven't been a lot of Duckworths that made the Wikipediae. There is black rap song by well known rapper but he changed his Duckworth name which came about through slavery so, he doesn't likely have the DNA. It's a funny true story about SnoopDog and the rapper's dad who had the Duckworth name.

This Chapter of the book is another interesting, funny and humorous read, Duckworth married and she announced her retirement from Military in October 2014, before giving birth a daughter; she ran for the U.S. Senate and won a senate seat, and she became the second female Asian American; the genealogical line in Shelby family tree grows mentionable; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

Your research was interesting, Beth. It's easy to understand, flows smoothly, and offers readers great details into your family tree. I've
read about TDuckworth. How interesting it is to read this account.
You are doing a great job compiling information from many sites
into something that is readable, interesting, and valuable.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

A lot of political relations in your husband's background. Did this interest in government pass on to him? You are certainly getting your money's worth of information from Ancestry.com. How can you be sure it's right? Just asking.

I lot of the information you get isn't right. People have guessed and entered the wrong information, but checking records that exist, dates, obits, tombstones, census records, marriage records and family Bibles give you a pretty good idea of whether or not the information is correct. Thank you for the review. My husband, like me, had problems with both parties. We voted independent for people who seemed honest and seemed to care about America.

Thank you for sharing more about your family tree with us. It's fascinating to find out information. I'm mostly interested with the early settlers and their lives. I find it fascinating.

Thank you Barbara. I wasn't able to find out as much about the early Duckworths, as I would have liked, and I had to fall back on the more recent ones.

Beth, this is so interesting. I was riveted all the way through, not least because some very close friends of mine have the surname of Duckworth. How strange is that? Barry and Lil, my friends, are from Britain, but live half of the year in Southern France and the other half in the next village down, half a mile from from me, here in Spain.
You kept me riveted all way through. Now, I only wonder if by some quirk Barry could be related to your late husband. Stranger things have happened. Ulla:)))

Thank you so much Ulla. I knew sooner or later one of the names I was researching would be a name someone was familiar with. I'm so glad you like this. You never know you might be related. I especially pleased that you've awarded me six stars.

It's always fascinating to me when you go so far back in time and trace family roots. I don't keep up with politics much these days because I'm so disappointed in both parties being unwilling to work together and learn the meaning of compromise for the good of our country. But, from what I do know of Tammy is that she is a gusty person who stands up for what she believes. That's about all we can hope for from any elected official. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric, I'm always pleased you review my stories. I agree with you politically and I call myself and Independent because I don't really care of the way either party conducts itself. My son is convinced they are both a part of the same evil entity out to destroy America. I wouldn't go that far, but neither has my allegiance. I will vote for those who really seem to care about our country. I'm having fun with the genealogy and I appreciate you reviewing it.

I agree that Tammy Duckworth is a "gutsy lady" and she's accomplished much for the country, both in serving in the military and in government. I'm sure Evan's mother would be proud to have a relative like her!

Comments:
There brother lived only a couple of years longer. (Their)
There have been several Duckworth's (Duckworths)
who served in congress (Congress)

Thank you Helen, I've heard her speak, and she is impressive. I guess you have something in common with her having lived in Hawaii. Thank for the corrections. I found the their and corrected but I'm glad you found the sentence,
