Would it be Obscure?

This 5-7-5, Would It Be Obscure?, has the proper formatting and works as a great example of the point being made that obscure words can be fun to exhume for a bit of wordplay like this. The modern terms would be quite necessary, of course.

There use to be a member on here that created
'Obscure Word' contests. Based on this submission, I am glad they left. Using the words in your author notes make better sense. Sorry. Just my opine.

Thanks, Tom. Yeah, I was just goofing around. I would't even get it myself without the author notes. That's why they're there. Thank for stopping in.

No hard feeling. I thought it was quirky and for those on the edge of insanity, like me, could easily be sucked in. :-)

Thank you for the great review, Rachelle. If only other people were grasping the meaning as well. Lol. I really appreciate the stars and good luck wishes. I might have to dumb the next one down a bit though. Haha. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this silliness. Thank you again.
-
No, no! Do NOT dumb them down. Trust that our fellow members will rise up to your wit and creativity!!! I gave you my vote.

Sometimes you just have to do that in order to get ahead in these contest. There are some dense ones out there, that's for sure. Lol. Write something for a second grader and you're almost guaranteed a win. It's sad but usually true.
Thank you for the support, Rachelle.

I'm definitely third-grader material; I know this because I've been told so not just once. ("Oh dear gawd; you act like a third grader!") [Do you think it proves them right when I exclaim, "THANK YOU!!!"]

Hahaaaa, not at all. That's the perfect answer. Mine's, "I know, right?" Lol

This is a well written and clever 5-7-5 poem.
The photo is intriguing and pulls the reader in.
The 17 syllables used were effective at telling the story of a novice poet experimenting with phraseology to create a meaningful verse. And if that doesn't work, throw in a little humor:)
That's la for sharing.

Was it YM Roger that used to do those? I remember them. I must have read this three times to try and figure this out. Then I saw your author notes and had to work out the puzzle. Usually a 5-7-5 requires no thought at all both from the writer or the reader. This one was quite different and I enjoyed and appreciated the work that went into this. Enjoy that thesaurus! It serves you well.

Yes, that's who it was. I didn't find on the list of members, so some folks might not know who I referring to. Thank you so much for the giant sixer, Lynda. Yeah, this took a little thought but still didn't come exactly like I had planned but what can you do? I came close. Lol. I just love goofing around on here. I dearly appreciate the generous rating, Lynda. I'm glad you liked this silliness. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend. Thank you again.

This has got to be my favorite, 5-7-5. I love the words you used, all of them meaningful to the piece and of course the artwork. I wish you the best in the contest. Best, JohnC

might a practical joke excessively improvise an inexperienced poet use?
Let's see... might an excessively inexperienced poet (do better) if he didn't improvise but used a Thesaurus? Help!
I don't think that's your meaning, if you had one. Which word are you designating as obscure? Ah! you mean the whole shebang. Yes, obscure might be one word for it. I am pulling your leg. However, I haven't the foggiest what your poem means.
The 5 is for the challenge.

Lol. The whole piece is a lame joke. Might a trick excessively improvise an inexperienced poet's (knowledge) if he uses a thesaurus to give that illusion. I guess that's what I was hoping to accomplish there. Lol. Thank you for the great review and stars, Katharine.

You're welcome. it was a tough one :)

I would have a poet wouldn't need a thesaurus the vast majority of time, so the word "callow" fits extremely well, perhaps, "I want to be a poet" might be better, heh heh. But I've been known to use "aids" from Time to time. Well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This is very interesting albeit obscure. You have concocted a 5-7-5 poem made up of very obscure words and by doing so you place yourself on the winner's circle ceiling above the rest. I love a thesaurus too and have used it extensively in my studies at college. Yet to reach the common audience it improves your chances to use common wordage.
This is fun and all but seriously folks, what would we do if everyone used the exact same words all the time? We need some like you and some others that are different to make the world go round!
Thanks for the play on words!

Thank you for the fantastic review, Jesse. Yes, without the definitions added, I wouldn't have a clue what this even comes close to meaning. Lol. Like many people, I'm sure. I really appreciate the generous stars, friend. I'm glad you liked this silly piece.
-
Yes, I had to look up the definitions myself. It was fun, though, to play your word game!

Lol, this gave me a headache and a chuckle at the same time. I used to try to get smutch, homologate and securdate into verse :-).
I might have to make such a contest now!
