This could become an interesting and valuable club, Brett. I've learned something already. Since I'm still hosting family for another week, I won't have time to participate, but I will definitely come back later. Thanks for sharing.

You?re most welcome, Brett. Sorry to hear the support is lacking. Maybe it?s the busy time of year.

I'm glad you publicised the club like this Brett, I hope it will have some effect. I have to admit that for me explanations like this are really complex, as they bring maths into the world of writing. Whilst I have always loved maths, I have never mixed the two. I write on feelings and by emotion. So far I have always shaped novels essentially in the revision stages, pruning and re-shaping until they feel instinctively right. However, I am more than willing to try alterative methods. Kate xx

Response has been slow. Little interest shown by members. Oh well. Appreciate the review.

I loooked to see who was a member now. Have we lost one already? This idea saddens me. I have been given a windfall. I will use part of it to write something appropriate to this valuable club this weekend. Kate xx

Very interesting, Brett. You gave readers some great tips on
becoming better writers. I enjoyed reading and thinking about
each one. I reread this and understand it better. I can see how
everything here fits into the writing of a great book. I really liked
the last few lines about the too early or too late tips.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I think your Tips 'R Us Club will be very helpful to those of us building our craft. Sometimes, we only need a little nudge to get us over the humps. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this very informative and inviting piece.
How exactly would one go about checking out the Tips R Us Club. Who can join and what writing level is targeted?
Lovely to know about this.

I watch a lot of detective shows, and it seems that the murderer is actually the protagonist. He is usually driven to act by someone threatening his job or reputation, by jealousy, by thought of making a fortune. The detective is the one standing in his way. I wish there were a way your points could be described without all those technical words. Maybe offer some examples to make your point. judi

I'd say you really know your stuff!
I didn't mature sufficiently during my high school, or college years to appreciate English Literature or composition teachers and classes. I'm paying for it now.
After reading this, I have better understanding, not how to actually create a proper piece of writing, but at least to know why I quit some stories and novels.
Thank you.

sometimes it is hard to open up at first of what the bad guy is pondering. by then he must keep your attention focused on the rest of the story so you must come up with an aha moment to keeo you glued till the very end if the story. Just saying.

Thank you for sharing this tip with us. I am now going back and check the novel I'm posting, the one I just finished writing, and the one I just started writing to make sure I hit this from the beginning. Oh my!! so much work. LOL
