I suppose Bass deserved what he got. He was a dirty fighter. There's no doubt he would have killed Rozlyn. But now she has to find Hexapussy again. Maybe the gnomes will be willing to help.

Methinks there's a broader plot afoot...
Thank you :-)

That was a creatively bloody end to Bass. Is there really a hexapussy? She is certainly leaving a bloody trail in search of it. I'll be looking for the last chapter.

Thank you, Carol :-). I posted both this and the last one simultaneously so it'll be there when you're ready for it.

Your fight scenes are beyond parallel, Mike. They are often a blend of pathos and comedy, but always there is a tension that is only released at the last moment with the death of the antagonist. But there is never a feeling that it would be that way until the final blade falls. For this, and for a creating a protagonist who spouts one of the cardinal rules for being a successful female mercenary leader is to "never put your codpiece on backwards," ... I must free the last 6 from my pocket!

Lol, thanks so much, Jay - I almost didn't include the codpiece line in case it was a bit too rude but then decided that was fine :-).
I kinda want to have my cake and eat it with the fight scenes - I want then to be silly and fun, but still plausible where possible. I'm so glad you liked it!

That was another enjoyable episode in this series, I loved this, the fact that Bass was parted with his sword wielding hands and then had his head cleaved in twain was most entertaining, the fact that these characters would already have a fatalistic view of life, and die at the same time with that thought process in. Mind, beautifully written Mike, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy :-). I'm glad you see there's some deeper thinking to go alongside the humour (although it's mostly about the humour!).

They rode on that tiny, magical gnome train only to be sent back to fight again? Well, I guess one bad guy is gone but he didn't have the Hexapussy so I sure hope the gnomes have an idea where to find it!

Thank you :-). It seems we may need to wait a little longer to unravel that full mystery...

I have the best time reading your descriptive, Mike This story always brings a smile to my face. When Lindon was hit in the face with Basse's poop. I'm on my way to read the last chapter. Best, JohnC

Lol, thanks John. I was worried I'd gone a little too far with the poop stuff but it just seemed to suit the scene. So glad you liked it, my friend.

You always have me riveted to the page, my eyes gobbling one foul deed after another. I'm sure Bass wished he'd been to the loo earlier!! Your imagination is well OTT, I find myself grinning over parts that I should be throwing up over. Of course Terence (my hero) was there to save 'the boss' and what a job he did! I'm really looking forward to the next part. :) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra :-). It feels good to draw this part to a close and look to the future for The Companions. It's been a thrill to have you along! I hope you're enjoying the epilogue.

I see you have already posted the next part of this. I can't wait to read.
Bass, I'd have known that voice anywhere. (I know they'd meet again.)

Oh, this is too good. I was supposed to be doing other things this afternoon, but when I saw you'd posted I couldn't resist. And I was well-rewarded. I loved the rules. I know you had to limit them, but getting half the money up front makes lots of sense. Then there was all the stuff about backside-wiping. Seriously funny. Anyway off for the next fix. TTFN Kate xx
