This is a powerful short poem an excellent haiku, the use of crane really adds to the image as I see the machine breaking down, a beautiful presentation****kahpot

The pictures were quite memorable, Gypsy. I really appreciated that you explained the various words in your narrative notes. Cranes can be either or. It is so devastating that we tend to forget that cranes are a type of bird rather than a piece of machinery. Blessed be n hugs!

I wonder if the crane had lived in the zoo and was witnessing the destruction of the zoo that was his home. I know there are some who are against having zoos but in some cases, the zoos have helped preserve certain animal species. Your poem helps us see from the point of view of the crane. It would be heart-stopping for them, too!

Yes, the old zoo was the crane's home. Many people have killed cranes and now they are in danger of extinction.
Thank you very much, Helen. I appreciate that you took the time to read and review my poem.

This is a wonderful modern Haiku that has a beautiful picture, a strong metaphor and a nice alliteration. I like both of these poetic tools and would like to enter one tomorrow.
Exceptionally done.

I like the cause-and-effect balance in this modern haiku. It could equally well apply to other forms of habitat destruction caused by humans. Nicely done.

I always enjoy your poetry as it is creative and interesting to read, I love the picture of the crane and how it relates to a crane with a wrecking ball that destroys all types of structures. Nicely done.
