A heart wrenching story. You have done a great job in telling this tale. I was very affected by it. It brought back to memory the worst event in my life.

Thank you for sharing this post. I enjoyed reading your story and message. Your birth mother should have refrained from asking you to call her mother. You had a great life with your adopted parents and the one's you loved. And they loved you dearly.

The rawness and - above all else - shock of the experience comes across achingly clearly in your account. It's extremely well written, but I know that's not the priority. You manage to convey how drastically one night - out of the blue - can alter the lives of everyone around it. I love the conclusion you come to - the strength of your connection to you mum. I've never understood why some people dismiss adopted parents/children as somehow inferior. The person who loved, nurtured and raised you is your parent - it's as simple as that.
A very affecting read.
