Wow! What a horrifying short, short story. However, it seems so complete. The font size could be larger. It would make reading your story easier. The visual fits well. Good luck in the contest.

This fifty-word flash fiction story, Contract Come Due, has the required word count and reveals that Kara should have tried to renegotiate her contract.

Sometimes renegotiating is not possible.

Ouch! This is really good and creates quite an impact, which is very important.
I was expecting Armageddon or something like that, not this Faustian ending. I like the surprise.
Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if Kara read the fine print of that contract with the devil! She paid a mighty big price here.
GREAT imagery here, outlandishly well-done writing. It's so vivid, I daresay it will haunt me the whole day. (Though, because we're writers, that's actually a compliment.)
Good luck in the contest!!

Paying the piper often comes with interest due which people do not take account of written in the small print of many contracts. Satan did not get to where he is by being a schlep.

That is so true.

A very confronting image and a vivid story - leaving the reader to wonder how she sold her soul. Very dramatic and vivid imagery. Best wishes for your entry.

This an excellent short story with some intense imagery.
One has little hope if they've sold their soul.
A nice short version of a Faustian bargain.
Well done.
Good luck.
