This is an imaginative approach to the contest, an anecdote of what happened each day, and the prayer it evoked. Very entertaining. I loved the way you gave no tale for Friday. In my experience it was always the day the students played up, so there would be too many things to tell. Thanks for your support of this contest. Kate xx

My mother and sister are both teachers, and this sounded like something they might say. It sounds like you had a great and entertaining experience being a teacher. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks for your good review, Jessi. Blessings to your mother and sister. They're going to need them!

I have a deep respect for teachers of any kind. The closest I ever came to teaching was as a youth pastor/Sunday school teacher. It is good to hear a teacher write so fondly of those times. Well written, well read, well received. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed your week of teaching experiences, and how you learnt a spiritual lesson each day. A creative and well-written entry. Sending my good wishes for the contest.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Verna.
I liked the way you took readers through a week
with the interactions between students and teachers.
I liked the one about teaching subject/verb and the
answer to the interrogative question. I liked you
personal comment after each day where you shared your
faith.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Wow, this is a marvelous meditation for teachers by seeing your teaching experience in terms of reflections and prayers and spiritual lessons learned! I liked the story of the "You take a good picture!" comment. It's funny how in English it can be taken in different ways.
Best wishes in the contest!

Having a daughter that teaches high school Freshman English, I'm always happy to read other teachers' stories. It truly is a labor of love. I bristle every time teachers are bashed as the bad guy. If you think teaching is a piece of cake, then why aren't you a teacher? It used to be just over salary and summers off, but now it's plain hate. Sure your tax dollars go to pay the teachers and support staff, but have you ever actually talked to a teacher and asked them to explain the inner workings of the school year? Probably not, and I know I'm preaching to the choir.
So getting back to your story, I can tell you truly love your job. Your feelings about Patrick, and what the future held for him were inspirational. The high school my kids attended also had a big rock out front that has been painted and repainted a million times. Sometimes it's to cheer on a team at state, sometimes it's a whole class stating they're the best. There have been many homecoming and prom asks too. I liked that the school let the students have this bit of fun.

Thank you so much for a very understanding review. I guess I need to state in my comments for those who wonder, I retired in 1990, and I'm so glad I'm not in the classroom today with all the problems. Best wishes to your daughter. In my career, I taught all levels of junior land senior high school at one time or another--in a small community and in a large city. When I retired, I subbed in a private school, and that was much easier, as far as discipline.

I love your teacher's prayer journal. I'm sure you students always present you with something interesting or amusing to write about. Are you still teaching? Your profile has you described as a former English teacher.

I just noticed I have about 50 words too many--so I'm getting ready to edit. I retire from teaching in 1990. Thanks for your review!

I'm glad for you that Monday's incident lightened your day. I may well have reacted a bit differently.
Jamar was a little smart A-- wasn't he?
You've just given us your testimony. What a wonderful life you must have led, and perhaps still lead, as a teacher. Perhaps the most honorable position one can embark upon. Or at least it was at one time. Today things are beginning to look a little gray what with CRT, Trans Sex Ed, violent school attacks and on and on.
I have always vied to be a teacher, but schooling took me another direction. I was able to satisfy my teaching "Jones" though through putting on seminars and teaching at companies.
I really liked how you spelled out your week like that. I am certain you could do the same, with different information, for every week.
What an interesting read and coincidentally I found not a single observation throughout the entire article. And I happen to be a critical reviewer. Move along though, nothing to see here.
Great article.
