Well, I found this highly entertaining, but that's not unusual for your writing -- I usually enjoy it. I won't comment on content, other than to say you've now made me want to go back to watch The Pelican Brief again... *grin*

I agree, Bill. Your post tells it like it is--life imitating fiction.
You are right about the USA judicial system and the lunatics
running free. It isn't safe to go anywhere.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Clever and good observation Bill. We used to see the Supreme Court as above partisanship but over the years with planning to put the "right" justices in place, we now have a court that will upend democracy and society.
Best wishes,
Mary

A poignant observation here Bill and you made a good point and writers often bring to life real circumstances, Shakespeare did it and so did Charles Dickens, the writers of the day tell it as it is, you connected the dots here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I've always marvelled that the judicial high court judges are elected by a fairly flawed method, giving room for political agenda, and criticism. whereas here they are elected by fellow legal eagles, who can judge their legal integrity, but whatever, I hope justice is still done, beautifully written, blessings Roy

They also serve for the rest of their lives, so bad decisions last thirty or forty years.

-Great work, Bill, and I did read the "Pelican Brief," and saw the movie.
-In fact, I read a lot of Grishom's books.
-I like your synopsis as the opening of the piece.
-A good follow up with the justices of today, although
that title might be a misnomer for the majority of them
that are there now. And one with a wife who represents
anything but justice!!
-Great ending.
-It's ironic, I enjoy reading things like this, but
I don't like writing about it.
-I liked this piece and hope you do more like it.

Good one, Bill. How smart to compare what is happening today to the plot of a fictional book. Your observation at the end would be good material for a satirical play.

Thanks for making the connection with Grisham and what he wrote. I never read any Grisham. Or even watched the movies. Sorry but it's interesting that he was prophetic. The justices were being stalked over the latest decision. I think no one is safe these days - even parade-goers.

This is a valid commentary on this lunatic world we live in these days. Did we ever believe these idiocies would threaten to move out of the world of fiction. How did we reach this point, and where are we going from here? I am more than perplexed. Kate xx

We are headed for gridlock and we?ll need to turn as a country on someone we can all hate like Putin.

I am conservative, but not a lunatic or a sociopath. I think calling names isn't classy.
As for the rest, yes! Fiction comes to life as groups will do whatever it takes to score points for their side or make money.

I didn?t say conservatives were lunatics; I mentioned a conservative lunatic. The restatement on your part, to feel a sense of indignation, is prime conservative spin rhetoric. If you think calling names isn?t classy, you are definitely oblivious to conservative politics.
-
Seems we both interpret according to what is "typical" according to the news. I do not consider myself typically conservative of a spinner. I'm actually pretty straight forward, Bill. I do not believe all conservatives are exactly the same, nor do I think all liberals are the same. You hit a nerve, accidentally. I will give you that. Too much emphasis on pegging liberals and conservatives as all the same as the rest in their group. Please forgive me. I should have let that go, because I really do get your point.
Tina

Yes, some conservatives are very quick to spin things, I admit....so are some liberals. I don't want to be that way. I don't like being labeled according to what they do, and I try not to ever address liberals as a whole.
