Thank you for giving this old Texan salesman a chance to talk about me - well, not about how great I was, but how great life can be for we who find the right niche and draw the right teachers to help us grow. As you can tell, I have loved life, loved the people I met, the adventures I have had and I thank God every day for the ride! BTW, the limitation of 500 words did not allow me to cover something I really enjoyed: to tell those college marketing students about applying for a job. Using the same three legs, I endeavored to give them a stool to stand on as they marked themselves into real life. That was personally rewarding as they seemed very interested and appreciative. Life is good. Now, I am an old man living on 5 acres with a gal I met in New York and married 45 years ago (I had been drinking). We share the love of adventure and our house is for sale so we can, pack the RV and travel America full time while we can still see it. Best regards,

Reese,

Having spent much of my career in sales, this really hit home with me. When I first started selling business forms I was afraid to ask questions for fear of exposing my ignorance. It took only a couple sessions with my boss asking me those questions for me to understand that people used their forms in different manners, and almost every client had some unique forms or unique way of using them. As with most things, a few well-adhered-to principles are all that's needed.

Thanks for your personal story/review. With only a 500 word maximum, I just could not work in, "I never was the sharpest knife in the drawer, so the only way I could earn any money was ask questions." It worked for me. Many years ago, I told my wife that I wanted the epitaph on my tombstone to read, "PRESS HARD. THE THIRD COPY IS YOURS." Nowdays, few would have any idea. Anyway, we've already bought cremation. Great to hear from you. Reese

LOL i actually designed forms with as many as thirteen parts, with all kinds of block-outs for selective withholding of information, perforated cards to be removed, etc., thus combining a half dozen forms into one. I enjoyed the challenge. I know you are talking about sales agreements and it's funny that I don't remember using many of those. Usually a purchase order or verbal acceptance sufficed.

Thank you so much for reading my words and your nice review. Interesting it was, but almost perfect for me. I have less hair and less money than I had planned for this age, but life is good! Great to hear from you.

Well, this was thoroughly absorbing, I did not like school and therefore did not learn very much, but reading your story and descriptions of how one/you came to learn is an excellent read, very well written and presented, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

kahpot, Bless You! Your review is a win. We are much the same. In fact, I dropped out of high school - it was the 60s and I was too into rock n roll. Cleaned that up. Went to college, unmotivated, and flunked out. The Navy gave me a chance and opened the world to me. Many thanks!
