We can't always donate our loved one.
They have to be still living to a degree.
Fortunately, my son Jason was just brain-dead.
And, we were able to donate him.
Thanks,

The objective correlative of your two in one work reminisces the physiology of the heart on one hand, and the imperative of having a heart on the other.
The work highlights the heart's consistency at work; and how it would be totally impossible for one to survive without it.
The work earns its texture through its effective use of similes, onomatopoeias, metaphors, personification, and rhetorical statements that smack of an imagery of the heart's functional perspective.
Exceptional work. Keep the flag flying.

Thank you for sharing this chapter from your book of poetry. I enjoyed the rhythm of both poems. I had to Google the word 'romitical' and I'm wondering if perhaps there was misspelling. I'm not sure the multiple question marks work in the second poem as not everything seems to be a question. Would like to read more!

Thank you Catherine I'm so glad you stopped by.
"Romitical"
You won't find this in the dictionary but it basically means musical heart.

I loved your correlation of heart beats and musical rhythms, casting us humans as instruments - we play ourselves with varying levels of expertise, but always feel the music even if others don't. Then Heart of One takes us through a litany of devotion and need. This was excellent.
