oops, this was so unexpected, but you are right some dreams are not meant to be and death steps slowly and takes over. Thank you for sharing and good luck with you writings.

One wrong move can change everything in an instant. Something that most all of us forget about as we rush throughout our days trying to finish every task. Haven't heard anything about your last tests. Just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten and you're still in my prayers. You seem to have kept posting regularly, but don't review as often. Wishing you the best!

What a sad little piece you wrote. You can read a lot of things into the story as the reasons why, but bottom line you don't need it since he's dead. Great job. Shirley

This story, Celebrant, seems to be disjointed as Terry seemed optimistic. One gathers, since he has apparently killed himself, that reaching forty was the "trigger" for realizing it was delusional to think his hopes would ever materialize.

I think some times people surprise themselves with what they actually do. They are thinking about one thing and suddenly they do something else. I find myself suddenly doing something I hadn't planned to do at all. I'm glad I don't carry a gun. LOL

Sorry, Brett, I couldn't give this a five. I don't understand what happened. Every time I've mucked out a stall it's taken two hands to handle the dung fork. I also don't see how the bang could have been unexpected if he was holding the gun. He would have had to pull it from the holster or his waistband. I have to assume that you meant he shot himself accidentally, which seems unlikely. Sorry, it just doesn't add up for me.

Why would he have shot himself accidentally?
-
Why would it be unexpected if it wasn't accidental?
-
His suicide was unexpected in light of all he had going on, wouldn't you say?
-
To him?

Commenting suicide is not a very good way to celebrate. I'm pretty sure his ranch's rise to fame as the top breeder in the industry will make the newspapers. Hmm. Thank you for sharing this post with us. I enjoyed reading.

I presume this means that it was accidental, one can't make a cup of tea with a gun, an excellent post Brett, the story is ideal for the narrative, forty is too short a time to die, well done, blessings Roy

A stark tale of how a single gunshot can end all things - a life, a business, and any hopes or dreams that may go along with them. It also reminds us to enjoy every moment, of course - who knows when what we have will be snuffed out.
