This sounds like the perfect life for any child. It must have been so pleasant and relaxing. Your life really does sound good. I don't remember anyone on the porch except Dad and his cat and beer-drinking dog. We had so many kids in the neighborhood that we played until bedtime. Around here everyone still believes the purple martins eat 2000 mosquitos a night.

This sounds like the perfect life for any child. It must have been so pleasant and relaxing. Your life really does sound good. I think that looking back at those front porch times are fond memories for many of us. These days, I'd just like to sit down and have a meal when I was rushing to do something else. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed, you are right about always having to rush. I thought retirement could mean slowing down-- but, even at 78, I haven't figured out how to retire. lol. Life is good and I thank you for the nice review. ann

I enjoyed the story. It reminds be for sitting on the porch swing with my grandpa or sitting on the poarch with Dad. Like like to sit outside and smoke a pipe to keep away mosquitoes he's claim. Maybe if we'd had some purple mountain houses, that wouldn't have been necessary. Both and Dad and Grandpa were were storyteller, and it was time to unwind.

Thank you for this wonderful story that brings out something you loved doing as a kid. With me being in the generation Gen Z and living in the suburb areas that there were different places to hang out. Like the local pool with friends or going to the park. Much better than what children are getting today. Those days when we sat and listenened to our parents chatter were by far the best. I really enjoyed sitting with you and listening in.
