Tangled up in hope and anxiety, and all hopes may soon be fulfilled, or perhaps it may all be in vain. At this moment, however, hope seems ready for fulfillment, and the distance travelled will make it all the more worthwhile.

Comment from Gloria ....
I very much enjoy the sensuousness of your tanka suite. I love how the distance between the two hearts is illustrated by the roses in a vase dreaming all alone, while the heart of the beloved beats like the lighthouse strobing in the dark.
Well, well done. :))

another romantic tanka poem about love, lust, dreams, and in-between. like the stanza about dreams the best as I am a big time believer in the power of dreams.

This is a beautiful poem and the painting you chose as illustration is lovely. I especially love the line, "a lighthouse that guides me out of the dark and into your arms." So evocative!

I love the sensation of transference you manage to conjure here, starting the image of loving attachment, then using that as the guiding ligt to be romantically together, even if physically apart. This is beautifully written - I very much enjoyed the read.

Comment from Mary Vigasin
Your image fits well with the dreamy and very romantic words. Yet, the words hang in the air when it comes to the feeling of separation from a loved one. Using the image of a lighthouse searching in the dark for the loved one is pure genius.
Best wishes

This is a nice dual tanka which tells the positive and negative of flowers. They show the love of your better half but also remind you that they are not there. So the blue that they are tangled in is loneliness.
But you know they will return so you have hope.

Whew, you hit a home run with this one, Gypsy. This Tanka is so meaningful and the two compliment and reflect off of each other. I thoroughly enjoyed read them. :)
