Your story made me laugh. I would have gone back to bed, too! Poor Larry. Thank you so much for writing this short piece and for sharing it. Best wishes to you.

I can relate to Larry I too like my bed, I had to think about "grass on his lawn" then realized you mow the grass to make the lawn, I believe everyone should be responsible for cutting their own grass, very well written****kahpot

Sounds about right to me. THe sentiment and logic are so essentially "summer" and tempting. I remember the joy of long grass. The picture is a great image to accompany the story.

This is the very reason I have hired a gardener. It is so refreshing to come out of my house and see my yard professionally groomed. I did not have to break a sweat to make it happen. The small amount of money it cost me was well worth it.

My lawn mower broke down. $140 for one job and $200 for the next. I?ve been clipped.

I pay my gardener $40.00 a month, sit back in the shade sipping an ice cold lemonade while he sweats in the hot California sun. A win, win. He gets money, I avoid a heart attack.

Send him to Michigan.

This is a great tale of procrastination and lack of motivation. You have told it concisely and yet with good imagery, if that isn't too much of a contradiction in terms. Thanks for sharing. Kate xx

Well if he let his own grass go unmowed for two weeks,
then the church group doesn't need his laziness. I enjoyed
your fun story, Bill. It read well with great imagery--esp
the LIWilder one.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Lol! You were describing our lawn last week but it's already halfway to a field of wheat now. We have so much rain that the grass grows and a ton of buttercups speckle that wheat field now along with bamboo...

Call Larry.
Comment from Spitfire
Larry is a procrastinator as evidenced by his 'hip wide' lawn. He doesn't seem to be a team player either. If this guy is married, I don't think it will last long. Love the verbal image of Laura Ingalls.
