Love is certainly not a disease - without it we suffer dis - ease. It is not a medication but a divine gift on which we need to overdose. Love, when taken in large doses, and supplemented with humility, can be the cure-all for all hurts, hostility, war and whatever. We understand love better when we experience its loss and come to see each of us as all of them.

The title was a bit of a deterrent to reading this. But I liked what you wrote and especially the measure of how you knew your beloved knew she was loved and loved you. Best wishes in the contest!

What a terrific piece of philosophy. Cannot fault anything grammatically, not that I look or am trained to do so. One thought crossed my thinking that broken love may not need surgery but there are doctorate degrees that specialize in mental repairs... psychiatry!

Love does heal for it shows you that it is a cure, but there are some that it isn't this way half of the time. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Thank you for sharing!

This is a rather profound piece, in that there are many levels one can explore. At the same time, you offer a very simply answer: love happens, heals and hurts. It is the source of the greatest joy and deepest pain. It is forever and those who experience it are blessed.

Love comes in so many varieties that can be analyzed; I like the one you chose. ann

I enjoyed reading your perception of love. And the woman who said, "Thank you," knew she was loved and loved you. I liked what you said,

"Love is not a disease, it is not treatable".

Thank you for sharing this story. Have a great weekend.

You are right. Love does not need human words. One knows love and can give and receive it with non- verbal communication. Best wishes for your entry in the contest. You left much unsaid, but it can be deduced. Subtle and skilful.

Love can be a disease but it isn't always the case. You have identified a few horrible cases. We need to be secured alert.

I like the following paragraph. " When love is lost, it breaks your heart. But you don't need surgery.". Love can break people's heart. As long as people are willing to let it go, their wound can be healed.
Good luck to the lovers in the world.
Thanks for sharing

I don't know, is love a condition? A state of mind? All I know for sure is that it's great when you find it and it's real and true. When you lose it, it hurts and the cure seems to be finding it again.

Interesting piece on a tough subject to define.

There is nothing like love, to say it is more than the sum of all one's life and the length of life, it is existent without help, I believe that we all have the potential to love, it doesn't depend on whether others love us, it depends on us loving others, it is a decision, more than a feeling, although that is a benefit, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
