Delightful banter! This rings true to circumstances--witty zingers--this pair exudes chemistry, yet they are grounded in reality as to knowing their respective deal-breakers--smoking and drinking, same as mine. Wonderful piece!

I think she's wise, but I don't think Daddy is going to change. He does sound like a nice guy, but should we be suspicious? I'm going to read the next part! Well done, Barb. I enjoyed this. :) Sandra xx

Thank you again Sandra. Daddy was all bluster without a lot of follow through. I eventually learn how to handle him. My mom never did. She always tried to reason with him.

I thought the script was interesting and the dialogue sound. I am not sure about America but, usually, in Britain only little kids call their father 'Daddy.' Bigger ot teenager usually call their fathers 'Dad.' Thank you for sharing and have a nice weekend.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I didn't start calling my Dad, Dad until the sixties. Before that I called him Daddy. Of course, since this is basically the story of my own first date, I do admit to being naïve at seventeen. It is based on a true story although I called it fiction.

This is excellent, Beth. The dialogue is natural and it's good these two are getting to know each other through conversation. I'm surprised that Betsy told Matt about her father's temper so early, but he seemed to take it in stride.

Hi Beth, I liked this and I'm glad you took it a step further. I must admit, I don't like all that talk about having a gun. I know it's a contentious issue in the States, but why it's so important in this day and time is so beyond me.
Now on to the next scene. Ulla:)))

Everyone I every knew in Mississippi had guns in their homes. My Dad didn't hunt like most men, but he only used them to scare possums, foxes and hawks trying to get our chickens. Most people lived away from the city and liked to hunt.

Oh I can understand that. The hunting bid, I mean. :)))

I really enjoyed reading this script and scene. You used very good dialogue and very good descriptive words. Not everyone can write a script. I enjoyed this one!

Thank you Teri, I'm not a script writer but I decided to write enough to get rated in scripts. I'm glad you liked it.

This is the second or next scene, in continuation, after the prelude, dating the first in the scene, decision was to be taken for exercise of freedom, some sort of errors, on analysis, attitude, people can take for self-security; nice taletelling with dramatic appeal in expressive order; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

I don't read many scripts, and in truth, don't usually care for most that I do read. But yours is an exception to the rule with it's nice, ordinary couple, cute dialog, and relatable incidents. I'm looking forward to where it goes next. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for saying that. I've not really cared much for them either. Writing scrips is something new for me. I'm glad you like this one.

Your script reminds me of how was 17 and Stan was in his twenties and my dad didn't want me go out with boys.
Your writing so well done and a pleasure to read.
Will be waiting for the next act.

This script is a great continuation of your story,
Beth. I enjoyed reading it. Your gave readers lots
details to help them get to know you and Matt.
I would say you learned from Mom how to deflect
Dad's desire to interfere.
I look forward to more, Jan
