Sorry, I didn't check out this contest so never knew about this post. Your two types of bad hair types are what all those shampoo ads target. Good use of alliteration, consonance, and assonance.

No need to apologize--I thank you for reviewing and all the stars. Getting a review 'out of the blue' is fun.

And I was glad to give you the 15th review so you should get a "Recognized" certificate. You can always re-promote a poem if it's close to those landmarks.

I was just thinking about telling you that your review pushed me into the "recognized" category, but you may have known it before I did! Thanks again.

You're so welcome! It's always fun to get a recognized or all-time-best. It's one of those little incentives to keep writing...

My hair is both oily and frizzy, but I live in a humid area. I loved your poem. It's so funny, and true! Thank you for so much for sharing this here, and best wishes to you.

Thank you for your review, comments, and all the stars.
I guess a new poem is needed for the oily and frizzy combinations. I even had some bald-headed poets say they were happy to be bald and free of bad hair days.

Excellent entry for the 5-5-5 writing prompt contest.

Good syllables count and connection between lines with nice presentation and imagery. It flows well with descriptive words that paint a clear mental picture.

Good luck in the contest.

I think this is the first poem I have read about hair. Your use of words does describe the various shape hair can be in. Excellent 5-5-5 form and use of words to create a poem most can relate to.

Yes, most can relate to the poem. But a few bald-headed men, all in fun, let me know that their hair wasn't fickle.

Thank you so much for your review, comments, ad all the stars.

Hello leather, great photo choice to accompany your words. Yes, hair can be difficult, but it's all beautiful. So, let that hair go free today and care not what people say 'cause it's yours and it's beautiful. A fun poem. Good luck in the contest. LateBloomer

Thanks so much for your review, comments, and well wishes.

I cut my own hair during the early start of the pandemic, and I can tell you that it was not beautiful then. But, today I will take your advice and let my hair go free.

During the pandemic, I, too, had my hair cut at home via my husband. He did a good job. He started to cut his own hair two. Now he only goes every other month for a haircut. Money saved and he does a great job.
I still let him trim the back of my hair. I cut my own bangs. I also get an extra few weeks without needing a haircut--money saved again, and in this economy, we need all the money we can hold on to.

Have a beautiful free-flowing hair day! LateBloomer

Yes, that can be true! You have a humorous image supporting your lament! Short and accurate. Well written.
Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

This 5-5-5, One Way or Another, has the proper formatting and suggests that hair has a yin and a yang aspect. The image in the graphic is having a bad hair life.

Thanks for your review and comments. You are right. There seems to be a yin and yang element in the poem. I didn't notice that until you mentioned it.
The image was a lucky find. Thanks again.

I always had fine hair, but fortunately being a boy, I didn't care about good hair days or even bad for that matter. But having a house full of females made a difference to that. Beautifully written my friend, great stuff, good luck, blessings Roy

I'm sure the training from female members of your family paid off in time.

When I was a child, I often had bad hair days. We did not have a shower. We washed our hair in the kitchen sink under the faucets. My mom used Prell shampoo without conditioner. Oh my, my hair looked terrible. It would get oily fast. I do not like remembering those hair days. Thank you for sharing.

It's funny how we survived our childhoods minus all the luxuries kids have today. I have a shower, but wash my hair under the kitchen faucet. I am a bath person, not a shower person.

The author's words describe well a "Bad Hair Day". The poem is clear,
descriptive, interesting, upsetting and creative. I thought about how
I fee on a bad hair day! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork
is awesome and compliment this poem well.

I was afraid I would only be able to find flowers like roses or orchids, but this photograph was spot on.
