I enjoyed reading what you have written and conclusions you have come to It never occurred to me there was a problem with what the God said about death and the time Adam lived. I understood the words God told Adam was that he wouldn't live forever, but by sinning he had that very day come under the curse of death. There are many things in the Bible written in the same way.

Just to be clear; there are two deaths spoken of in scripture. Adam experienced both. As soon as he and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they were cut off from God, just as warned them. The sinless God cannot abide sinners in His Holy Presence.
Then 900 years later, Adam experienced physical death. Happily, Adam and ever were both saved by faith in Christ through God's preaching od Christ.

This is a very good interpretation of the day that Adam sinned and seems to have evidence to prove it. I had believed it meant one of God's days as He is not limited to a human day. At one point God said our time was but a blink of His eye.

A good comparison (blink of an eye) but context will show us when God is speaking of a normal 24 hour day, or a lengthy period of time. God's word is very precise.

I truly believe all you have set forth today in your commentary, my brother. How I rejoice today that we have redemption in the blood of the Lamb. The reassurance of the scriptures says it is so! Sending you my best today as always and blessings in Christ,

Thank you, Sister Sal! Freedom in Christ, not to sin but to fellowship with the Son! He is risen and by His grace, we are too!

I enjoy reading your articles because it's clear how much time and effort you've put into both researching each subject and considering the interpretations and ramifications. Well written, and I applaud the work.

Your dissertation displays a good deal of research, prayer and understanding. It is galling when someone relies on superstition, and Hollywood's weak representation of scriptures. Not to be ignored is the fact that before he sinned, Adam was eternal, once he sinned he was like a prisoner on death row waiting execution. Because he had to serve as mankind's father he was given ample time to procreate as many as were possible. For instance the human line that would provide the line which Jesus would follow had to be established. Wonderful.

I believe you are on the right track, but do remember he died spiritually the day he ate the forbidden fruit. Some 900 years later, he died physically.
We also note the Lord came looking for His fallen creatures and told them of the Savior who would come and destroy the work of Satan in them and all Creation.
We can say God Himself was the first Gospel preacher. God bless you, Dennis

An important message, one that is so critical for all to be aware of today.
A few observations:
Para 1, 1st sentence: PERHAPS you should add (16) before (And) since you do include 17 for the next verse. The same logic holds true whenever you quote multiple verses. I THINK you should also include the verse number for the very first one as well as those appearing later on. It could help in the understanding of an already deep topic.
Para 6, 2nd sentence: Need paragraph space after (context.)
Para 8, 2nd sentence: Either add a paragraph space after (fulfilled.) Or remove enough spaces to make the next sentence congruent to the paragraph.
Para 9: Same logic as the previous observation, (Para 8)
Para 12, 1st sentence: What is this quoted from? Citation?
Para 12, 1st sentence: I THINK (firstfruits) should be (first fruits)
Para 12, 1st sentence: Add quote mark after (slept.)
It may be possible that you have depended too much on Biblical quotes. The rest of the article is interesting enough that I think I would like to hear your voice come out more.
I definitely appreciate someone going to the Bible to get their inspiration, but I also look forward to what they think it means and why. I think you have that capability, share it with us.
I rated a four-star primarily because most of the article consists of quotes from the greatest book ever written. But I need to hear you.

Hi Gary, Thanks for your careful and detailed review of my latest effort. I do have a real problem with paragraphs on FanStory in particular, though not in my other writings.
Perhaps I am over-reacting to so many postings that seem to think white space is to be avoided at all costs? :)
I must gently disagree with you regarding content of the amount of scripture in relation to my comments on them. I aim to always make it so, since Scripture alone is infallible.
Thanks again, Dennis

Well argued. Good job. Thank you.
Question - Do you then believe that when a truly repentant and saved person knowingly and willfully commits a sin unto death, that he/she 'dies' and remains dead until again repentant?

Hi Wayne, Thanks for reviewing. The "sin unto death", as I understand it, is not spiritual death, since Christ promised in John 5:24 believers will never be condemned and in fact, already have eternal life.
Here is the Apostle Paul's warning to the Corinthian church about their careless practice of the communion table:
1 Corinthians 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Comment: "many sleep" is, as you know,
a reference to physical death for believers.
Usually, God's correction is incremental in severity (weak, sickly, sleep) but it can be sudden death as in the case of Ananias and Sophia in Acts, lying to the Holy Spirit about the amount of money they gave to God. God bless, Dennis

I enjoyed reading your post discussing some contradictions found in scripture. I am not Christian, but I do appreciate your willingness and thoroughness to challenge what is written and the messages left.
The presentation works well in keeping the scriptures organized for the reader. Thanks for sharing you love for your faith.
